Documentarians that shine a light on small businesses and the people who create and run them can win up to $21,500 in cash prizes by entering the GoDaddy Small Business Stories online video contest. The Audience Awards is partnering with GoDaddy, the cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures, to offer a tool for filmmakers from around the world to allow them to compete by telling stories about the triumph and heartbreak that comes with investing heart and soul into making a small business work.
The Power of Storytelling
Dedicated to celebrating the power of storytelling and building audiences for new talent, the AudAwards’ innovative, online video contest platform provides a stage for short films and engaging stories. It was created by filmmakers for filmmakers to help grow careers and fund dreams.
“We can all be inspired by the stories of small, independent ventures that power the global economy,†said Christopher Carfi, director, content marketing at GoDaddy, in a released statement. “We are pleased to partner with Audience Awards to offer an opportunity for filmmakers to capture the true essence of what it takes to be a small business owner today.â€
Paige Williams, founder & CEO of AudAwards and an award-winning documentary filmmaker added, “We are proud to partner with GoDaddy for the Small Business Stories challenge and lend the talents of our community of filmmakers to give hardworking, small business owners a chance to tell their inspiring stories.â€
Vying For Capital and Human Assets
According to a press release, the challenge for participating filmmakers is to “create a one- to two-minute documentary-style short highlighting a small community business and the people invested in that business, telling real stories through a human lens, rather than pretty lighting and technical polish.” An industry panel of judges will award 10 prizes, ranging from $1,000 for honorable mention to $10,000 for the first place winner.
