Google Apps no longer free for new small business accountsNews of the search giant’s quest for nationwide wireless service comes less than a month after Google rolled out free Wi-Fi for one New York City neighborhood. Now, Google has reportedly applied for an experimental license from the Federal Communications Commission that would permit the Mountain View-based company to establish an experimental radio service in a two-mile radius near its headquarters, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The set up could lead to extremely fast Google wireless networks in other locations, which will allow users to connect to the web via their mobile devices.
