Health Care Costs Expected to Rise in 2014, Study Says


Health care costs expected to coincide with the Affordable Care Act are expected to rise 6.5 percent in 2014, according to Pricewaterhouse Cooper’s Health Research Institute.

The study is impressive if only for his scope and ambition: PwC’s Health Research Institute looked at the health care costs for the nearly 150 million Americans covered by their employer health care plans.

“Health care cost increases continue to exceed overall growth in wages, but the gap appears to be shrinking,” said Michael Thompson, principal with PwC’s human resource services practice in a statement.
