The damage and destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy could have been much worse if the government didn’t have a proper plan to combat the treacherous storm that hammered the eastern seaboard.

President Obama’s planning and preparation for the storm is being applauded today as the worst part of the hurricane has passed.

TheGrio’s Joy Ann-Reid wondered how Hurricane Sandy could affect the presidential elections (which are one week away) and wrote 5 ways in which the tropical storm could swing the pendulum in the direction of either candidate.
