Ice Cube Says, ‘I’m Not Playing Politics With This’ Black Contract With America

O’Shea Jackson, also known as “Amerikkka’s Most Wanted” rapper Ice Cube is still being crucified by critics for taking a meeting with The Trump Administration’s Jared Kushner to discuss his “Contract With Black America.” Although he was a big critic of President Trump, people are still upset that his working with Kushner sends the impression that he is being used by Trump and that others will see the collaboration as Ice Cube endorsing the president.

As Cube continues to defend himself while making the rounds with the media, he appeared on Fox News with Chris Wallace to discuss why he has had conversations with the Trump Administration. Fox News named the 51-year-old businessman as their “Power Player of the Week.”

As Wallace asks, “Has Cube mellowed over the years?”

Wallace starts the interview by saying, “Some people called you a sellout. Some people said you were working with a dark side.”

To which Cube says, “I told everybody that, you know, I’m not playing politics with this. I’m willing to meet with anybody who could bring this to — to life and make it a reality.”

Cube adds, “I may find pressure points. That’s the only way you can push. You know, my daddy told me a long time ago, no matter who’s the president, you got to get up and go to work in the morning and always remember that. So, no matter who’s the president, I’m going to get up and go to work in the morning.”

Ice Cube was an integral and driving force behind the Hip-Hop group, N.W.A.
