LA Auto Show Set to Reveal the Latest Cars and Auto Technology

After Mayor Garcetti’s speech, we heard from Logan Green, the CEO of Lyft, who explained how the peer-to-peer car-sharing industry is changing how much time and money people spend commuting. Lyft is amongst a few peer-to-peer car-sharing programs, but in October 2015 alone, Lyft carved out $7 million in revenue from its services. According to Green, commuters spend about 250 hours a year in traffic, which decreases the amount of time people spend with families or simply enjoying their lives.

Additionally, as access to transportation options, especially in major cities, continues to thrive, peer-to-peer car sharing is ending the idea of car ownership as we’ve known it. People are buying new cars or using their current cars to meet their transportation need as well as earn income by participating in these car-sharing programs. The car-buying experience is becoming more liberating financially just as much as it’s putting drivers more in control of their traveling experiences.

The LA Auto Show’s public opening has much more to offer, including highly anticipated reveals, opportunities for consumers to get behind the wheel of many vehicles, and hearing, first hand, about the inspiration and goals for the automotive future.
