Light On The Ears…

Let’s face it, size matters. And when it comes to wireless headsets, small and cute are definitely the way to go. So much the better if the device packs Bluetooth power into a sleek, futuristic design. Throw in a chic velvet carrying case, and we’re sold.

Jabra’s JX10 Bluetooth 1.2 headset weighs less than 1/3 ounce, measures a miniscule 11/2 x 3/4 x 3/4 inches and offers clear calling that’s light on the ears.

Getting started was a snap. We simply followed the directions (BE testers have on occasion been known to throw out, er, misplace, instructions). There are just five easy steps to Bluetooth bliss. Our test phone easily “discovered” the device, and we entered our PIN. That’s it.

Well, not quite. While we love the idea of a tiny, unobtrusive headset, the diminutive JX10 did take some getting used to. Even with the instructions on hand, it took us a minute to attach the headset to the charger, and we nearly overlooked the pinhead-size pairing button. Switching between the cell phone and headset for calls was a breeze, but we kept getting our volume controls mixed up.

Style is clearly the aim with the JX10, but the Jacob Jensen design also achieves functionality in a tiny form. (www.jabra.com; $179)
