Michelle Obama Makes ‘Closing Argument’ For Biden For President

With the election less than a month away, Michelle Obama is giving her closing argument on why Democratic nominee Joe Biden is the right choice.

Biden is currently leading in most polls, but the former first lady wanted to share her thoughts with parents, new and young voters, and all Americans about why this election is so important and why Biden is the right man for the job.

In the 25-minute speech, Obama came out swinging about how important the election is and why.

“Let’s be honest, our country right now is in chaos because of a president who isn’t up to the job,” Obama said. “And if we want to regain any kind of stability we’ve got to ensure every eligible voter is informed and engaged in this election.”

Obama also knocked Trump for his stance on the Black Lives Matter movement, the military, and the coronavirus pandemic.

“Even in the face of all his incompetence, Americans keep digging deeper, finding new reserves of strength and doing whatever it takes to get through this. That’s one of the beautiful things that has given me hope the past four years, our country’s resilience,” said Obama.

The former first lady also shared the speech on her Twitter page.

Former President Barack Obama has also been campaigning for Biden. Last week, Biden’s former teammate told an audience at Twilio’s annual conference, the U.S. holds major sway over world events and the choices made by the incoming president will have huge ramifications for the coronavirus pandemic and other generation-defining issues.

“The U.S. still underwrites a lot of the world order that we know. Even our adversaries expect us to behave responsibly on the international stage,” the former president told the audience. “And so, on something like the pandemic or climate change, if we’re not at the table helping to shape solutions, then a vacuum develops, and it’s very hard to get coordinated international action.”

The former first lady eventually turned her focus to Joe Biden, who she believes is the kind of president the country needs right now. A president who will put the needs of the country before his own and a president with compassion, empathy, and resilience.

“It is that spirit, that determination that will make Joe the kind of president we need right now, one who will ensure all familes get back on their feet and our economy can get back on track.”
