Gay Mississippi Mayoral Candidate Found Dead, Man Taken Into Custody

The body of a Clarksdale, Miss. mayoral candidate was found 15 miles out of the city a few days after authorities were in search for him after his disappearance Tuesday morning.

Marco McMillian, 34, had been missing since his vehicle was involved in a head-on car collision, however he was not in the vehicle when it was found.

Lawrence Reed, who was identified as the driver of McMillian’s vehicle was taken into custody. There is no word as to whether Reed is a person of interest in the murder of McMillian or is being detained for the separate accident investigation.
