What does being one of the BEMM 100 Men of Distinction mean to you?
As a Brit, it is an honor to be recognized amongst other distinguished men in the U.S..

What are some examples of how you turned struggle into success?
What seems like an eternity ago, the decision to make a new life in the U.S. and leave the U.K. to build a career in the Arts.

What is an important quality you look for in your relationships with others?
Integrity.

What are some immediate projects you are working on?
I am currently working with colleagues on executing the 3rd Annual African Art Awards Dinner for the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art.

We are also planning a Wakanda Forever celebration this year.

What is the best advice you ever received?
Imagine that you belong in the room and you will belong!

What is some advice you have for other men who want to make a difference?
Our actions are everything. Always be the example you set for others.

How do you prep for an important business meeting and/or event?
I always take time to research, prepare an outline, understand the goals, and be conscious of who I am speaking to and how I can contribute.

As a busy Modern Man, how do you unwind on vacation? Share a story about your best vacation.
I like to spend time on the beach relaxing. I went to Aruba for the first time in 2016 and it was nothing short of paradise! The people, the place, and a real sense that I was away from the hustle and bustle of Washington. Definitely returning in 2018!

If you could travel and stay anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Brazil. As an avid collector of vinyl records I have always had an affinity for Brazilian Jazz and Samba. Listening to it, I always imagine myself in Bahia.

My other go-to place is London to catch up on the sights and sounds of home.

What is your “Extraordinary Impact”? (Describe how you are making a major difference for others, in a way that distinguishes you as extraordinary in your profession and/or day-to-day life).
As a PR professional in the art world I am deeply committed to showcasing and celebrating the richness of African art and its major contribution across the diaspora.
