Nas Provides Scholarships for Tech Students - Black Enterprise
Black Enterprise Magazine January-March 2019 Issue

Nas is helping to set a tone for emerging students who have an interest in the tech world. The Shadow League is reporting that the celebrated rapper is helping to encourage minorities to consider having a career in technology.

Nas is partnering with Google, Microsoft and Hirepurpose to fund scholarship programs to provide hands-on web development training at General Assembly for underrepresented groups.

“This is the start of what hopefully will be a contribution to what will be a more diverse and accessible community worldwide,” said General Assembly CEO Jake Schwartz, in an interview with Betabeat. “Being able to sort of create a program where these scholarship students have to tutor, we kill two birds with one stone.”

You can find out more about the program at the General Assembly site.
