With a New Book Creating Major Buzz, Donna Brazile Will Receive Legacy Award at the 2018 Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit

Donna Brazile, the long-time Democratic political strategist and former head of the Democratic National Committee, has a new book out with shocking insight into the DNC during the 2016 election.

In excerpts from the book posted on Politico, Brazile claims that Barack Obama’s presidential campaign left the Democratic party $15 million in debt. Also revealed: Hillary Clinton’s campaign team fiercely controlled the entire DNC budget. Brazile also urged Bernie Sanders to rally his supporters in favor of Clinton to prevent Donald Trump’s election.

“[Sanders] might find some of her positions too centrist, and her coziness with the financial elites distasteful, but he knew and I knew that the alternative was a person who would put the very future of the country in peril,” she writes.

A Black Enterprise Honoree

Brazile has been a fixture in D.C. for decades. She will be honored with the Barbara Graves Legacy Award at the 2018 Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit at a gala reception.

The Women of Power Summit takes place on March 7–10 at the luxurious Disney Yacht & Beach Club Resorts in Orlando, Florida.

In addition to Brazile, dance legend Carmen de Lavallade will be recognized for her contributions to the entertainment world including performing as a prima ballerina at the Metropolitan Opera.

The Women of Power Summit is a professional leadership conference designed especially for executive women of color. This event will bring together over 1,000 influential businesswomen from across the country.
