Sen. Barack Obama made a surprise appearance at the Democratic National Convention this evening.
In a somewhat corny and staged presentation, Jill Biden, wife of official vice presidential candidate, Sen. Joe Biden, came on stage to hug her husband while carrying a microphone. Then she said that she had a surprise in a very stiff and awkward manner. (I’l say this, she’s no Jennifer Lopez, who earlier in the day hosted a private reception to honor, president of the Childrens Defense Fund. Then, Biden, in his best impression of Keanu Reaves (forgive me, Keanu) asked what was the surprise. Then, Obama walked out to thunderous applause.
However, according to the Associated Press, Obama’s appearance was unscheduled and unscripted. Certainly to most of the delegates, the appearance was a surprise, but for the folks on stage, I’m not buying it.
What do you think, was Obama’s appearance really a surprise to the folks on stage?
