OZY Media has announced the date and list of headliners and guest speakers for its OZY Fest event scheduled for May.

OZY Fest will take place May 15-16. This year’s festival will be a virtual event after last year’s was postponed due to the pandemic. OZY Fest is bringing together game-changers who are leading the way in entertainment, politics, and entrepreneurs for the virtual celebration.

Headline musicians for OZY include musicians Chance the Rapper and Big Freedia, comedians Tig Notaro and Aida Rodriguez. The virtual event will also include Dr. Anthony Fauci, Rep. Maxine Waters, Condoleezza Rice, Deepak Chopra, and others.

“We are so excited to be bringing OZY Fest back,” OZY COO and co-founder Samir Rao said in a release. “Virtual events and festivals have been hit and miss over the trying past year, but OZY Fest is going to take things to the next level, with the most interactive virtual experience of all time. OZY Fest won’t disappoint if you’re as tired of Zoom as we are.”

The theme for this year’s event is “Reset America” with organizers saying it hopes to host conversations to reimagine democracy, racial justice, education, and technology. OZY Media will also partner with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) to provide free access to all current Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) students.

Proceeds from VIP ticket sales will be donated to the UNCF.

“It’s a privilege to be partnering with UNCF to make an impact with OZY Fest this year,” Carlos Watson, OZY CEO and co-founder said. “I have said before that the 2020s will be the new 1960s, and OZY will play its role in facilitating some of the most important conversations about where we turn next as a society.”

Those interested can register for tickets at ozyfest.com. The event is being presented by Chevrolet and American Family Insurance.
