Producer extraordinaire Pharrell Williams has partnered with Miami-based businessman David Grutman to open a new swank hotel in Miami.
According to Ocean Drive Magazine, the Goodtime Hotel will open on Washington Avenue in South Beach in April, but customers can book reservations now. Room rates start at $260 per night.
Pharell told the magazine that the luxe hotel would inspire guests who stay at the auberge.
“The Goodtime will light up this community,” the super-producer said. “People are going to be inspired by what we’re doing here. It will be good energy, good vibrations, good space, and, of course, a good time.”
Planning for the Goodtime Hotel took three years, according to the publication. Grutman explained that the pandemic also slowed down the hotel’s progress.

Pharrell and Grutman’s inspiration for the hotel was a part of the duo’s mission to revitalize the South Beach community.
“Pharrell said to me, ‘I think we should name it The Goodtime as one word—and really change the narrative,” Grutman said. “That’s been our whole vision for everything we’re doing. [In recent years], Washington Avenue has not been thought of as the star. We want to change that—this won’t be a place to just lay your head.”
Pharrell expressed that working with Grutman was a no-brainer.
“He made it here because he always thinks outside the box,” says Williams. “He could look at me as just another musician, but he sees more than that. He sees things that people sometimes don’t know about themselves, and he sees things in the community that maybe, just maybe, the community hasn’t seen in itself in a long time.”
In 2018, Pharrell and Grutman also opened Swan Restaurant in Miami’s Design District.
