RECAP: GlamUniversity’s GirlPower Sleepover


This past weekend GlamUniversity presented it’s first ever GirlPower Sleepover at the Aloft Hotel in Downtown Atlanta. The sleepover welcomed women business owners and aspiring business owners to an intensive overnight business boot camp aimed at empowering and equipping women with the tools to help grow their small businesses.

Participants received swag bags complete with journals, candles, and more to help them kick start the weekend, which was jammed packed with activities including business coaching led by Glam University founder, Sabrina Peterson, a vision board party led by Ladies Who Brunch, and a unique one-on-one experiential learning workshop with the Glam University experts.

First on the agenda was the A-Z Business Boot Camp. Participants were given the insight needed to help catapult their business to the next level.  Next, participants were met with a networking happy hour that included gourmet desserts and drinks.  Afterwards, the ladies were treated to lobster tails and rice for dinner. Following dinner, participants had the option to participate in the Ladies Who Brunch Atlanta Vision Board Party.  Ladies Who Brunch Atlanta fosters entrepreneurs and empowerment to help women become more self-sufficient. Cofounders Bianca and Dayy Bella, created the vision board party to motivate women into thinking about their 2015 goals on poster so they can see them and begin to take action.  “What’s a vision without a plan” Day Bella proclaimed.

The night concluded with a GirlPower pajama party. Participants met one on one with leading industry experts.  Participants were encouraged to ask questions, and the experts replied with honest “real deal” answers.  Some of the experts included: Tionna Smalls co-star of VH1’s reality television series What Chilli Wants, Ericka Dotson CEO of Indique Hair Inc Mags Fasting Growing Co, Dawn Dickson CEO OF FLAT OUT HEELS as seen on MSNBC & The Profit, Nicole Garner CEO of the Garner Circle PR & EntrepreneursIvyLeague.com, Kachelle Kelly Author & Self Publishing Guru of series “Boss Women Pray”, and more.

The sleepover wrapped up on Sunday as attendees enjoyed shrimp and grits and mixed fruit breakfast buffet.  Kristen Dickerson from All Things Hair, traveled from Memphis, Tennessee to attend the GirlPower SleepOver.  ” I attended the sleepover because I wanted perspective on how I could grow my business.  The sleepover has helped me to not only connect with amazing women, but a chance to help share resources”.
