Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and while many plan to spend VDay with that special person of some-odd years, others will be blind-dating it or just simply playing the dating game with a potential suitor to score the free chocolates.
But, are you willing to endure the social anxiety by sitting through the hour-long encounter? Well, the discomfort associated with the first (or second to third) date can be avoided with Social Turkers, an app to help with the small talk.
According to TheRoot’s tech-life contributor Stephanie Humphrey, Social Turkers uses “Amazon’s Mechanical Turk, a crowdsourcing service that allows you to farm out small tasks that require a real human to complete, such as transcribing audio recordings.†Developer Lauren McCarthy used the service to get instant suggestions and immediate feedback while she was on an actual date.
The app is currently in beta testing.
