The company that helped empower Black entrepreneurship within the culture of hip-hop back in the ’80s will bring the Hip-Hop culture and lifestyle to a free streaming platform.
FUBU (For Us By Us) will partner with FOX SOUL, a free streaming platform that is bringing Black content to the streaming arena, to launch The For Us By Us Network. The partnership will allow the For Us By Us Network, provider of quality content around topics, people, and trends related to hip-hop culture and lifestyle, to distribute content that is relevant to the culture and lifestyle.
“Our new partnership with FOX SOUL enables us to continue to produce high-quality original programming while expanding our outreach to a broader audience,” The For Us by Us co-founders J. Alexander Martin, Roberto Rush Evans, and Terence Greene said in a written statement. “Our mission is to highlight unique personalities and their authentic stories within our community which perfectly aligns with FOX SOUL’s vision. We look forward to working with FOX SOUL to continue to create, inspire, educate, and uplift new voices to the digital space.”
The first set of programming is slated to debut next month. Two new, original shows are set to premiere: Chopping It Up With Oakley, starring basketball legend Charles Oakley, beginning Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. EST, and Getting Back to Bri, featuring Briana Camille (premiere date forthcoming).
FOX SOUL and The For Us By Us Network plan to unveil additional programming in the future.
“FOX SOUL and The For Us By Us Network have a shared vision to entertain, educate, and inspire voices of the Black community, consumable by all,” said FOX SOUL’s head of programming, James DuBose. “We look forward to working with the For Us by Us team and bringing quality content to audiences as we continue to champion and grow the FOX SOUL platform.”
