Toni Braxton’s Youngest Son, Diezel Braxton-Lewis, Graduates From High School

Singer Toni Braxton can probably “Breathe Again” now that her son has just recently graduated from high school.

According to Atlanta Black Star, the son of recording artist and reality TV star Toni Braxton and ex-husband and former Mint Condition bandmember Keri Lewis, has graduated from high school and is on his way to the popular HBCU Howard University. Diezel Braxton-Lewis, who’s autistic, graduated from Fusion Academy, a private school based in Los Angeles. The high school customizes in-person, virtual, or hybrid learning for its students.

Braxton took to her Instagram account to show off the accomplishment of her youngest child as he is ready to take the next step in his education journey.

“Congratulations @diezel.braxton! Mom is so proud of you. 💜 Howard University here he comes!”

According to Essence, Braxton had discussed Diezel being diagnosed as autistic as a young child and then, in 2016, disclosing that he was no longer showing symptoms of it.

In an interview with OK! in 2011, she used to blame herself for his diagnosis.

“It’s been rewarding to see how he’s grown, but I remember when I first found out. I remember blaming myself; I thought it was my fault,” she said. “I wish I knew what triggered it. Still, often, as a mom, I blame myself. I didn’t take my vitamins every day … maybe it was the medications I was on before I got pregnant.

“They haven’t figured out what triggers it, but whatever it is, I don’t care, find a cure. Help my kid; help all the other kids.”
