Univision Television to Carry Bounce TV in Several Markets

Univision Communications has reached a deal with Bounce TV to offer the African American-targeted network as a channel in several markets across the U.S.

Bounce TV, founded in 2011 is a majority owned-and-operated African American company whose initial ownership group includes former Atlanta mayor Andrew Young, Martin Luther King III and Will Packer. The channel features programming geared towards an audience older than the age group that’s usually targeted by the Viacom-owned BET.

Univision Television Group will carry the channel as a multicast service in San Francisco, Boston, Miami, Denver, Sacramento, Raleigh and Tampa. This partnership will bring Bounce TV’s coverage to 86 percent of African American TV households in the US. Bounce will now be seen in all of the top 10 markets and 24 of the top 25 African American Markets.

“Bounce TV is the perfect companion for Univision as we continue to serve the New American Reality,” said Kevin Cuddihy, president, Univision Television Group. “It is a meaningful network that will serve African American audiences in our communities joining Univision to create a powerful one-two combination for viewers and advertisers.”
