Wendy Williams Reportedly Checks Into Rehab For Substance Abuse Issues

As Wendy Williams prepares to enter the world of podcasting it has been reported that she is in rehab for substance abuse issues.

The 58-year-old media personality has checked into a “wellness facility” to  “manage her overall health issues,” her publicist Shawn Zanotti told The U.S. Sun.

“She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major comeback for the next level in her career with The Wendy Experience Podcast,” Zanotti said. “Ms Williams is being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world. We ask for your prayers and well-wishes during this time.”

It was previously reported by The U.S. Sun that Williams did not look well when she made a late-night run in New York City last month. She was observed looking “disheveled and disoriented” when she purchased some cigarettes and liquor.

A source stated, “Wendy can’t stop drinking, she just can’t.”

Page Six also reported that the former talk show host went back into rehab due to her fallout with her former production company, Debmar-Mercury.

Said another source, “It’s gotten worse. She went from wine to straight up vodka.”

Neither outlet had an exact location for where Williams is getting treatment and for how long.

Earlier this summer, Williams told TMZ she was entering the world of podcasting after losing her television talk show earlier this year. Williams said she already had plans to have big-name celebrity guests. In a brief interview, Williams told the gossipy media outlet that she will make more money podcasting than she did on her popular syndicated talk show.

The Wendy Williams Show aired from 2008 to 2022, but medical conditions forced her off the air for the past year and a half. An array of guest hosts kept the party going until the show’s end.
