The Twitterverse is constantly buzzing with an outlined play-by-play on the latest in news, entertainment and trending topics—to name a few on the long list of online conversation starters. Twitter users are, in total, sending an average of 55 million tweets a day, according to a Twitter study released last April. Of course, with all that chatter it's easy to block out a lot of it, but within all the noise there's still a large percentage that catches your attention in one way or another. In an effort to make sure you're not missing out on the valuable commentary and comments online, BlackEnterprise.com will now curate the tweets throughout the week staffers think were worth taking note of, whether an expert, celebrity or or even you masterminded the tweet. With all that went down on Capitol Hill this week, this BE Tweets of the Week package is all about the GOP, Dems, and good ol' politics. --Janel Martinez

This week's Social Media Connection is Chris Curtis, a web business expert, business radio personality and author of the upcoming book Work the Web! The Webwise Guide to Business Online. In her own words, Curtis shares how she uses social media to achieve her business objectives: When it comes to Social Media, I've carved out my own little corners where I can post until my heart's content (or until my brain can't think of anything to type), and connect with people all over the world. As a business owner, its proven to be a successful way to reach out to others and pitch ideas, form collaborations and even find new contacts for my seminars and workshops. You'll be amazed by the people you meet, and you'll most likely find opportunities in places you never thought of. One note of caution: Be careful what you put in writing. When you're connected for business purposes, don't say anything that you wouldn't say to a prospective client or a business partner. Remember, you're exposing your writing to thousands - even millions - of people who might take exception to interpersonal expressions, if they're thinking about connecting with you to do business. Think before you post. Not sure where to start? Here's where I hang out...

Who are you connecting with on social media sites? Who's connecting with you? More importantly, why are you connected, and how are you using your presence in social media to advance your career, business, financial and lifestyle objectives? These are the questions we had in mind when we created this new BlackEnterprise.com feature, Social Media Connection. Lots of magazines, web sites, bloggers, etc. share all kinds of lists of who's who on Twitter and other social media sites. Our goal with Social Media Connection is to go a little deeper. Each week, we'll profile an entrepreneur, business expert, celebrity or other key influencer in a unique way: breaking down their presence on social media site by site—focusing on their favorites—and getting their insights on how they use that presence to achieve their business goals. Our objective is to give you insights and ideas from the most successful entrepreneurs, professionals and experts engaged in social media, insights you can use to achieve your own goals. To introduce this new feature, which will appear every Thursday, I've volunteered, as the editor-in-chief of BlackEnterprise.com, to be the guinea pig.
