Bevel Revamps Locker Room For Clark Atlanta Men’s Basketball Team, Adding A Stylish Barbershop On HGTV’s ‘Married To Real Estate’

The Clark Atlanta University men's basketball team received a revamped locker room that includes a state-of-the-art barbershop and lounge space.

The Clark Atlanta University (CAU) men’s basketball team was recently blessed with a revamped locker room that includes a state-of-the-art barbershop and lounge space.

Courtesy of the men’s head-to-toe grooming brand Bevel, the remodeled locker room was a team effort between CAU’s Basketball Head Coach Alfred Jordan, CAU administration, and HGTV stars Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson, who remodeled the space on the Feb. 15 episode of their hit series Married to Real Estate.

The show followed Egypt and Mike as they worked with Jordan to turn the dismal underground space into a chic and cozy safe haven for the Clark Atlanta University Panthers. After they’d worked their magic, the new lounge included a study space, a new office for Jordan, and a stylish barbershop where players can get their hair cut in peace.

“I am very appreciative for the safe space that was created for our student athletes to focus on Academics and prepare for game day,” Jordan said in a press release. “Additionally, I am also very thankful for the national exposure this partnership has brought to our entire athletic department.”

Bevel’s donation to CAU aligns with the company’s mission to prioritize the needs of Black and brown men with its grooming products. Since its 2013 launch, the Atlanta-based, Black-founded and -owned brand remains committed to transforming the grooming industry by ensuring its groundbreaking, solution-focused products and tools are within reach for all men with curly, textured hair and melanin-rich skin.

“As an Atlanta-native myself, I know how important Clark-Atlanta is to the city. I also know well the disparity that can exist between HBCUs and Power 5 programs, like Georgia or Alabama as examples, and was excited to help close that gap by bringing to fruition a space at the caliber of something you’d see within a professional program. Seeing the CAU student-athletes, coaches, and administration’s excitement and gratitude for this new space was amazing, they deserve all of this.”

Stream the full episode, “Education in Design” (season 3, episode 8), on Max. Season 3 of Married to Real Estate airs on Thursday nights at 9|8c on HGTV and streams the same day and time on Max.
