President Obama made his first overseas trip, to Canada, where he met with Governor General Michaëlle Jean, Prime Minister Stephen Harper as well as Leader of the Official Opposition Michael Ignatieff. Obama sought to ease concerns over trade policy and open up a dialogue over the two countries’ differences on energy issues.
