Things are heating up in Teyana Taylor’s divorce filing from Iman Shumpert, with the NBA alum fighting against parts of Taylor’s claims.

The NBA champion filed recent documents of his own and wants Taylor’s claim of “cruel treatment” during their marriage removed from the inital filing, TMZ reports. Shumpert says Taylor never proved her claims of feeling endangered, despite making the claim in recently filed divorce papers.

As a result, the “Dancing With The Stars” winner wants the claim removed from Taylor’s filing. In Taylor’s inital filing, she cited “cruel treatment” as the grounds for the divorce. But considering it’s definition as being the “willful infliction of pain bodily or mental … [that] reasonably justifies apprehension of danger to life, limb, or health,” Shumpert isn’t accepting the title.

Instead, Shumpert wants the divorce to be a result of the marriage having a “irretrievable broken bond.” He also shuts down any insinuation of not being a good father to their two daughters, “Junie” Tayla, 7, and Rue Rose, 3.

Taylor initially filed for divorce earlier this year using only their initials to keep the divorce under wraps. But last month, the divorce became public after Shumpert filed a motion asking the court to attach their full names to the documents.

In her filing, the “Gonna Love Me” singer accused Shumpert of “displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage.” She also claimed to be on the receiving end of Shumpert’s “condescending and manipulative” messages which felt like an “emotional rollercoaster.”

According to Taylor, the NBA alum “did not want her to work,” which resulted in her turning down certain gigs to not add to how “insecure” he allegedly was that his professional basketball career was ending. The singer/dancer/actress also accuses Shumpert of cheating throughout their marriage and creating a “hostile” living environment.

In September, Taylor announced their separation but claimed infidelity was not the cause for their split. She also claimed they were “still the best of friends [and] great business partners.”

“Most importantly we are FAMILY & in the 10yrs together, 7yrs married we ain’t ever played with or about THAT,” she added.

But it looks like things are a lot different behind the scenes.
