After sitting out for 19 games for plantar fasciitis, Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings vows to donate $1,000 for every shot made during his return to the court tonight in a match between the Kings and the Indiana Pacers.

“When I heard about the huge tragedy in Japan, I knew that it was time to spring into action and that I had to do something,” said Evans.

The Sacramento Kings point guard and New York Spring Water, Inc. this week announced, on behalf of their flagship brand VBlast!, they have teamed up to provide disaster relief to Japan in the form of fresh drinking water. New York Spring Water’s President Richard Zakka confirmed thousands of liters of water have been deployed from Takeshita Distribution, the company’s local distributor, to the Japanese government in a press statement.

The United States Army’s disaster relief team will supply the water to shelters, stores and local organizations. The company vows to support all water relief efforts until water supplies return to pre-radioactive levels.

Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment is part owner in the New York based beverage company.
