Keke Palmer to Play Cinderella on Broadway

According to Hello Beautiful, Keke Palmer will make history by being the first black actress to play Cinderella on Broadway. Starting Sept. 9, she will be starring in “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella” at the Broadway Theatre.

Actress-singer Brandy portrayed the popular storybook character in a television film in 1997.

This is the second time Palmer is making history, as she became the youngest talk show host when her show, “Just Keke,” debuted in June on BET.

“Theater offers so much more than I haven’t been able to access doing film and TV and everything like that,” Keke told the Associated Press. “I’m very excited to learn all that it has to offer–that focus and that dedication to perform at a certain level every night.”
