GENEVIEVE MICHEL-BRYAN
SVP, Video & Events ProductionGenevieve Michel-Bryan is the SVP/Head of Video & Events Production. An Emmy-nominated producer, she is committed to ensuring the BLACK ENTERPRISE brand of excellence is part of everything she touches.
Michel-Bryan serves as the executive producer of all sponsor-driven custom video/digital campaigns, webinars, podcasts, and custom videos created for signature events. She works directly with the sales, events, digital teams, content producers, writers, and postproduction editors to ensure flawless execution of all campaigns and events.
Michel-Bryan also oversees the live productions of all BLACK ENTERPRISE signature events, including Women of Power Summit, Black Men XCEL, BE Smart HBCU Hackathon, CDO Summit, and Women of Power TECH.
As VP/Broadcast Director, she had executive oversight of the content and production of the company’s three nationally syndicated television programs: Black Enterprise Business Report, Our World with Black Enterprise, and Women of Power TV. In this position, she oversaw and mentored a cadre of correspondents, producers, writers, and editors.
Michel-Bryan joined BLACK ENTERPRISE in 2006. Previously, she held several positions within the NBC News family, including segment producer for NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, Weekend Nightly News, The Today Show, and Weekend Today. At WNBC News, she served as a medical news producer for Dr. Max Gomez during the key Sweeps periods. She also worked as a segment producer for CNN’s American Morning with Soledad O’Brien and Bill Hemmer, as well as Paula Zahn Now. At ABC News, she served as a postproduction producer for Good Morning America, World News Now, and World News This Morning.
While at NBC Nightly News, she was part of the team to receive the 2004 National Headliners Award for Best Newscast. In 2006, “The Katrina Effect” earned her and correspondent Anne Thompson the Gerald Loeb Award for Excellence in Business Journalism. In 2008, she and Ed Gordon were nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Our World with Black Enterprise. In 2010, both Black Enterprise Business Report and Our World with Black Enterprise were awarded NABJ’s Salute to Excellence Award. In 2010, the National Black MBA Metro New York Chapter named her Corporate Executive of the Year, and in 2015, she was awarded Broadcast Journalist of the Year by the Women of Excellence in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Michel-Bryan graduated from the City University of New York at Hunter College with a bachelor’s degree in communications and completed a certificate program in Television Journalism and Production and Writing for Television News at New York University. She also holds a Certificat de Langue et Literature Francaise from Universite de Paris IV at the Sorbonne and a certificate in Diversity in the Workplace and in Management for News Executives from the Missouri School of Journalism.
