New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is the ultimate sneak peak of the most incredible fashion ideas that will be hitting stores for the upcoming season. Draped in Eloquii and driving in style with the Lincoln MKX, I got a chance to experience NYFW 2016 in all of its glory. This year’s shows boasted a lot of energy and playfulness to create a theme of vibrancy seen in almost every fashion line. Formalwear, activewear, and even pet fashion made an appearance. For fashion’s SS17 season, not only can shoppers expect to integrate effortless chic and elegant silhouettes from designers like Christian Siriano, but they’ll also integrate technology into their wardrobes from companies like Samsung.

Yes, you read that correctly. Samsung made an appearance at NYFW and it was as more than just a sponsor. Models strutted the Macy’s Front Row catwalk with wearables such as the Samsung Gear S2 and the brand new Gear S3 devices. Their smartwatch displays and visual design came to life on the stage and guests were invited to participate in the interactive demos to experience the wearables themselves.

Wearables aside, to add even more splendor to NYFW, pet couture designer Anthony Rubio fused glam and playfulness with models who brought out puppies in coordinating outfits onto the runway.

NYFW attendees savored the “sophisti-chic” styles of Vedeta Hanley, who has previously lent her eye for design to Ralph Lauren. She showcased her high-end luxury collection featuring bold and futuristic designs.

Designers Mario De La Torre and David Tupaz added styles to NYFW that ranged from refined and exquisite to luxurious and whimsical. Everything from eveningwear to resort wear and children and teen wear was featured, showing off their depth of talent to make the whole family look fashionable.

Streetwear met activewear from designer Control Sector, which debuted neutral tones and minimal designs to exhibit simplistic style and function.

Australian model, Madeline Stuart, graced the runway for designer Bound by the Crown. Stuart, who is the first model with Down syndrome to hit the catwalk, added vibrancy to the show with her infectious energy and gymnastics talent.

After the dazzling fashion shows with its nuances and breathtaking designs, NYFW still had room to celebrate and honor some tremendous contributors to art and fashion. Harlem’s Front Row showcased their ninth annual celebration of leaders in beauty, art, and fashion. This year’s honorees included hip-hop artist and producer, Swizz Beatz, celebrity stylist, Eric Archibald, president of Next Model Management, Kyle Hagler and the editor of Teen Vogue, Elaine Welteroth.
