OneUnited Bank Partners With Visa For OneTransaction Campaign During Black History Month

OneUnited Bank is unveiling a new campaign for Black History Month. The country’s largest Black-owned bank announced its partnership with payment solutions conglomerate Visa for the special OneTransaction campaign for February.

The new marketing initiative will be focusing on closing the racial wealth gap in the Black community and increase their net worth. The campaign will also include a new virtual conference to be held on Juneteenth of this year.

“The reality is the racial wealth gap for each family can be closed by one strategic transaction,” says Kevin Cohee, chairman & CEO of OneUnited Bank in a press statement. “By encouraging our community to accomplish OneTransaction in 2021, we can make financial literacy a core value of the Black community and create generational wealth.”



The goal is to promote customers to commit to one transaction which could be in the form of creating an automatic savings account, starting an investment portfolio, will, life insurance, or move to buy their first home to improve their financial health.

“Prioritizing financial educational and tailoring solutions to close the financial disparities is key to building generational wealth,” says Visa Senior Vice President, Head of North America Marketing, Mary Ann Reilly in a press statement. “By partnering with OneUnited Bank, we are both working towards driving lasting systemic change and enabling individuals, businesses, and economies to thrive.”
