Songwriter Wants Diddy Held Accountable For His Treatment Of Her Friend Cassie

Red recalls Cassie calling her a few months before filing the lawsuit and revealed the extensive trauma she suffered.

The songwriter who came forward to corroborate Cassie’s shocking lawsuit claims against Sean “Diddy” Combs is speaking out in hopes of having the hip-hop mogul held accountable for his alleged treatment of her friend.

Tiffany Red isn’t backing down after penning an open letter in Rolling Stone about how Diddy “traumatized” her after witnessing parts of Cassie Ventura’s lawsuit allegations against the Bad Boy founder. On Dec. 21, Red, one of Ventura’s longtime friends, appeared on NBC News’ Top Story with Tom Llamas, explaining why Diddy should be held accountable for his treatment of the singer.

“I think a lot of people, especially in the Black community, I’ve seen the narrative of like, they just trying to take a Black man down, and it’s just like, that’s not what this is about,” Red said. “This is about accountability and a reckoning. That’s just the bottom line.”

Red met Cassie during the singer’s relationship with Diddy. She was hired as a songwriter for Cassie’s second album, which never came out. Red and Cassie developed a friendship during their time working together, and the songwriter claims to have witnessed the verbal abuse Cassie allegedly endured at the hands of Diddy.

“I remember him [Diddy] calling her like over and over and over and I was in the car with her … and then she finally answered the phone… It was on speakerphone, and that was the first time I had ever heard him screaming. He just was like, ‘B—-, what are you doing?’ She kept like hanging up because he was screaming, and he was like, ‘Ah, don’t you hang up on me!’ And he kept threatening to take her car,” Red said.

Red recalls Cassie calling her a few months before filing the lawsuit and revealed the extensive trauma she suffered during her relationship with Diddy, including the alleged “freak offs” with hired male sex workers.

“[She told me] that he would hire these like sex workers and like they would have, you know, sex with her, and he would watch and tell them what to do,” Red said. “And she said that she didn’t want to do it, and she would talk about like being sick and throwing up because she would be like nervous about all of it.”

It was a more harrowing reveal Cassie recently made to Red that inspired the songwriter to speak up. According to Cassie, Diddy would only agree to work on her music after she did a freak-off.

Cassie and Diddy have not responded to Red’s open letter or her interview with NBC. But Red says she’s speaking out to validate her friend’s claims against the music mogul.

“I don’t think people understand what it’s like to be traumatized by somebody famous and rich, because you can’t get away from them,” Red said.
