This Holiday Season Celebrate Diversity With Artist Spotlight Puzzles

With the holiday season quickly approaching, it’s worth looking into how you can give a gift that celebrates diversity this Christmas.

Spin Master Games recently unveiled its Spotlight Series puzzles that shine a light on diverse artists with a unique perspective. The puzzles aim to celebrate Black culture and underrepresented voices.

The first series is designed by French graphic artist Aurélia Durand, a designer who uses her pieces to portray a vivid celebration of Afro-descendants who appear joyful, proud, and empowered.

The future series will include designs from Graffiti Egypt, an emerging artist and muralist from Los Angeles; and Muhammed Sajid, an illustrator from Bangalore, India.

Spin Master Games will use $275,000 from proceeds of the puzzles to donate to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). The funds will help to advance the art programming at BGCAs nationwide.

“At Spin Master, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn, grow and explore through play and creativity,” said Tammy Smitham, Vice President of Communications and Corporate Citizenship.

“Boys & Girls Clubs of America is focused on providing opportunities for youth and empowering them to reach their full potential and we are excited to support them in the expansion and enrichment of these arts-based programs.”

The puzzles, as well as Spin Master Games’ work with BGCA, is part of their mission to help kids of all backgrounds and socioeconomic upbringings to just be kids by removing obstacles to innovation, invention, and entrepreneurship, the company said in a statement.

“As Boys & Girls Clubs of America remains committed to strengthening youth voices, art programs allow kids and teens to express themselves in a safe space, fostering creativity and serving as an outlet for self-expression,” said Jim Clark, president and CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

“We are honored to partner with Spin Master as we align on our shared vision of a future filled with enhanced opportunities for youth to learn and grow through play.”
