Top Real-Time Moments: Women of Power Summit Legacy Awards


On the second night of the Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit, four exemplary women were honored for their leadership and impact on their industries and the world at large with the Legacy Award. A finale for a day filled with empowerment and inspiration for more than 900 women from across the country, these women accepted their awards with humility and spirit, expressing how others can create their own world-changing paths and give back to their communities.

Honorees were as follows:

  • Charlayne Hunter-Gault, journalist and former foreign affairs correspondent for NPR and PBS
  • Susan L. Taylor, founder and CEO of National CARES, a multifacted mentorship and youth advocacy organization, and Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of Essence magazine
  • Pam Grier, actress (Foxy Brown, Jackie Brown) and activist
  • Beverly Daniel Tatum, Ph.D., president of Spelman College, honored with the Barbara Graves Legacy Award
