UBR Morning Post: Ad Industry Titan Don Coleman - Black Enterprise
Black Enterprise Magazine July/August 2018 Issue

GlobalHue's Don Coleman shares how he built the nation's largest black-owned ad agency.

This week on The Urban Business Roundtable, our newest UBR contributor, Renita Young, speaks with Donald A. Coleman, founder and CEO of Southfield, Mich.-based Global Hue, the nation’s largest black-owned advertising agency. With 2009 billings of $483.5 million, Global Hue ranks No. 1 on the BE 100s Advertising Agencies list and was recognized as the 2010 BE 100s Advertising Agency of the Year. Coleman was also named one of 40 “Titans: The Most Powerful African Americans in Business–and How They Shaped Our World” in the 40th Anniversary Issue of Black Enterprise.

Coleman, a former NFL linebacker who was prompted to earn his MBA by a career-threatening knee injury, shares his strategies for entrepreneurial success. To learn more about Coleman’s journey, read his B.E. Advertising Agency of the Year profile, “Making Cultural Connections” in the June 2010 issue of Black Enterprise.

Also on this week’s edition of The Urban Business Roundtable, our Executive Producer TaQuoya Kennedy speaks with Arlene Williams, executive vice president of Chicago-based Seaway Bank and Trust Co., one of the nation’s largest black-owned banks (ranked No. 8 on the 2010 BE 100s Banks list). Williams shares what business owners need to know about managing both their personal and business credit scores in order to maximize their ability to access capital.
