Black Enterprise & Shell Hold Energy Forum This Weekend

Black leaders will converge on the nation’s capitol Sunday night for the Black Enterprise Conversation on Energy Forum, Part II. As America grapples with its dependence on oil, a presidential push to adopt green practices and a global emphasis on the sciences, Black Enterprise takes the lead in bringing prominent industry figures together to discuss challenges, solutions and implementation.

Headlining the event is Van Jones, best-selling author of The Green Collar Economy: How One Solution Can Fix Our Two Biggest Problems and a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress. Jones is also founder and senior policy adviser for Green For All, a non-government organization that promotes an inclusive “green economy.”

The event, which kicks off Sunday night with an exclusive VIP reception, then swings into gear on Monday with one-on-one and panel discussions, will be held at The Liaison Hotel Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

Panelists will address how blacks are fairing in the green economy and increasing inclusion, as well as green business opportunities. Panelists include Green For All CEO Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, Shell Oil Company VP of Technical Support/Deep Water Ernst den Hartigh, Urban Solutions Inc. President and CEO Dan Packer, and Entergy Inc. Executive VP and Chief Administrative Officer Roderick West.
