It’s already October, and that means you have less than two weeks to submit a 90-second video that describes a STEM racing application and how it’s significant to motor sports.
By submitting that video you could be eligible to win one of four 2016 NASCAR Chevrolet Diversity Scholarships. Students must be between the ages of 18 and 25 and be a full- or part-time student at an accredited college in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
This contest offers college students of all races an exciting and engaging way–through motor sports–to get involved in STEM, which Chevrolet calls an area key “to the success and future of the motor sports industry.â€

The scholarship program reflects GM’s commitment to ensuring “that students of different backgrounds, skills, and experiences have the opportunity to pursue STEM-related careers.†Four selected winners will be awarded not only a scholarship, but also an exclusive behind-the-scenes NASCAR race experience that includes “a tour of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage, pace car rides, and meet-and-greets with Team Chevy drivers and Chevrolet NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Program Manager Alba Colon.â€
“Inspiring innovative students who are interested in careers in STEM is critical for the growth of our sport and business,†said Jim Cassidy, NASCAR senior vice president of racing operations. “The scholarship program helps both organizations attract young, diverse talent to the world of motor sports.â€
