African American Entrepreneurs Who Are Running Billion-Dollar Businesses

The first time Black Enterprise compiled its annual report of the nation’s largest black-owned business in 1973, the “BE Top 100” list, the combined sales for the 100 component companies totaled $473 million. The 2016 annual ranking—representing seven different lists—revealed industrial services companies grossed more than $24 billion in combined revenues in 2015, employed 65,443 workers, and are located in 29 states and the District of Columbia.

K. Neal Truck and Bus Center, one of only two black-owned truck and bus suppliers in America, has been named the Senate Small Business of the Week. It received that designation on November 14th by Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship Ranking Member Ben Cardin (D-Md.).
