Besides juicy tell-alls and gaudy fairy tale weddings, tabloids are always hungry for a celebrity newborn’s first photo opp… and they’re willing to pay up for a plate. However, unlike Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who received a $4.1 million check from People in exchange for exclusive pics of their first biological daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, couples of color are rarely seduced by the media for six-figure (or more) shots of their tot. That could soon change however with the arrival of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s bundle of glory, Blue Ivy. Although it’s unlikely that the ultra private couple (who have yet to even disclose a wedding photo) will pen a publication deal, many are speculating that the first snaps of their baby girl could pull anywhere from $3 million to $4 million. While we wait for the proud parents to ponder their decision, here’s a look at the few black and brown offspring that brought in big dollar signs before even uttering their first word.—Tracy Garraud

It took only 72 days for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ marriage to dissolve. Reportedly costing a million dollars, the financial loss of the split is obvious. Similarly, Jennifer Lopez may have once sang “Love Don’t Cost A Thing,” but the singer/actress knows first-hand that a divorce can cost a pretty penny. After eight months of marrige to backup dancer/choreographer Cris Judd, she called it quits in 2002 and coughed up $14 million to Judd. With the recent announcement of her split from salsa singer Marc Anthony, there’s rampant speculation about who’s going to come out richer. J.Lo, whose estimated net worth is $150 million, easily eclipses her estranged husband who earns a respectable $40 million. If the couple signed a premarital agreement, there should be little worry about who gets what.
