1 In 3 Pets Will Need Emergency Care – Here’s How To Best Protect Your Fur Baby

1 In 3 Pets Will Need Emergency Care – Here’s How To Best Protect Your Fur Baby

Our pets are way too much like us. Just like we can end up feeling under the weather in what feels like an instant, your dog or cat can go from spunky to sick in a matter of minutes, too. Instead of stress-Googling their symptoms in the wee morning hours, there’s a digital clinic for pets that’s available to you 24/7 so you don’t necessarily have to take time out of your busy workday to bring your pet to the vet.

Certain things that quarantine spurred can and should stick around, and vet telemedicine is no different. Meet your online vet, Pawp, who walks you through any and every situation relating to your pet’s health.

While we may be freaking out whenever our fur child seems even just a little off, not every situation is an emergency. Instead of racking up bills from emergency room visits, you can talk to a vet virtually now with Pawp. They’ll walk you through how to deal with any mishaps you can handle on your own, or how to provide moment-to-moment care when it’s an emergency that’s beyond your skill-set.

If you’re just looking for a quick opinion, you can shoot the providers at Pawp a text. If you’re feeling like connecting on a more personal level, phone calls and video chats are also an option. In two minutes or less, you’ll be connected with a vet.

Every 1 in 3 pets needs emergency medical care at some point in their lives, but it can cost between $800 to $1,500+ for a single visit. To ensure you’ve got your baby covered in case they become the one out of those three dogs, Pawp provides up to a $3,000 emergency fund per year to pay for those unexpected costs. All you need to do is talk to an online vet who greenlights whether it’s an emergency or not. Upon their approval, you’ll have access to the emergency fund. Think of it as a pet insurance alternative, but you reap even better (and less complicated) benefits.

All it takes is $19 a month, and you’ll be ready for any situation that life throws at you. Especially for pets with pre-existing conditions that don’t qualify for traditional pet insurance, Pawp can help regardless of your pet’s past health history.

You might be like Lewis from New York, a Pawp customer that was once quoted $215 a month for just accidental coverage when it came to two pets. That’s where Pawp comes in to make those numbers more sound.

The life of an entrepreneur or employee can get hectic, so squeezing in those appointment-free visits can solidify the goal of keeping your pet as healthy and happy as you would an actual child. No need to crunch numbers, shop around, and comb through endless reviews. Check out Pawp, a straightforward, innovative new way to make sure your fur baby lives a healthy and long life.

21-Year-Old Sha’Carri Richardson Is Now One of the Fastest Women in America; Lands Spot on U.S. Olympic Team

Track athlete Sha’Carri Richardson won the women’s 100 meters at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials on Saturday night. The event took place at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

The 21-year-old competed against other young athletes for a chance to represent Team USA in Tokyo this summer.

Richardson Secures Spot on U.S. Olympic Team

Richardson sprinted to the finish line in the final seconds, earning her a winning time of 10.86 seconds. The second place finisher was Javianne Oliver, coming in at 10.99 seconds. Teahna Daniels  finished third in 11.03 seconds. All three women have earned a ticked to the Tokyo Olympics. They will be participating in the Olympic Games for the first time. 2016 Olympian Jenna Prandini will be an alternate for the Olympic team, placing fourth in 11.11 seconds.

Family members cheered from the bleachers to celebrate Richardson’s victory. She showered her family with hugs and participated in an interview with NBC. She was asked to share her emotions and talk about making her first Olympic team.

“Emotionally…unbelievable,” says Richardson as she describes the moment. “The fact that I am an Olympian.. [It’s been] a dream since I’ve been young.  I’m pretty sure everybody’s dream as a track athlete. Being happy is an understatement. I am highly blessed and grateful.”

During Richardson’s interview, she shared an emotional moment that took place in her personal life.

“Last week, finding out my biological mother passed away and still choosing to pursue my dreams. Still coming out here…still here to make the family that I do still have on this earth proud. And the fact [is] nobody knows what I go through. Everybody has struggles and I understand that. But y’all see me on this track. Y’all see the poker face I put on. But nobody but them and my coach know what I go through on a day-to-day basis.”

Becoming One of the Fastest Runners in History

While Louisiana State University (LSU), Richardson broke the collegiate record in the 100 meters at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

In April, Richardson garnered attention for clocking a speed of 10.72 seconds at the Miramar Invitation. She made headlines as he sixth-fastest woman in history with the fastest time ever in Miramar, Florida. Her then-world leading record put her in the category of the top women on the all-time track and field list: Florence Griffith Joyner, Carmelita Jeter, Marion Jones, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Elaine Thompson.

According to Runner’s World, Richardson is now ranked second in the world. She’s right behind Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica. Fraser-Pryce ran 10.62, representing the second-fastest 100-meter time in history.

Richardson is a fan favorite and is well on her way to making history.

“I am getting ready to change the game. I am as good as I say I am. It’s something I haven’t really expected, something the world hasn’t been expecting,” the runner shared after her race in April.

Nina Simone’s Granddaughter, RéAnna Simone Kelly, Drags Vice President Kamala Harris Over How She Handled Her Family’s Estate

Nina Simone’s descendants have come forward with a shocking claim that now-Vice President Kamala Harris ruined their family.

The iconic singer’s granddaughter, RéAnna Simone Kelly, took to Twitter on Friday evening to praise Chloe Bailey’s steamy version of her grandmother’s classic “Feeling Good,” after the vicenarian was semi-dragged for being allegedly disrespecting Simone’s legacy- the praise took a swift left turn when someone on Twitter questioned why an account for Simone was created years after her death.

“Nina Simone passed away April 21, 2003, & Twitter launched July 15, 2006. Why would her estate even make an account for her?”

Kelly provided an explanation that shocked many. The outspoken woman implied that Harris was the reason why her family no longer controlled Simone’s estate.

“Nina’s granddaughter here. My family doesn’t run her estate anymore. It was taken away from us & given to white people. Our family name was DRAGGED in the media. We get NO royalties, nothing. Wanna hold someone accountable? Ask Kamala Harris why she came for my family,” she wrote.

Kelly, the offspring of Nina Simone’s daughter Lisa, expounded on the alleged damage Harris caused to her family and her grandmother’s legacy.

“As I said before, Ask her why she separated my family,” she continued. “Ask her why my grandmother’s estate is in SHAMBLES now. Ask her why we as her family, no longer own the rights to anything. Ask her why she bullied my mother in court and my mom almost killed herself from the depression.”

A 2016 settlement named Harris as the “settling party” of Simone’s estate.

“The Attorney General asserts that [Lisa Simone] Kelly breached her fiduciary duty to the Estate and to the Charitable Trust and wrongfully diverted Estate assets. The Attorney General seeks to surcharge Kelly for amounts totaling $5,937,749.42 plus over $2.5 million in interest, which the Attorney General contends is far more than one-half of the Estate’s value during [Lisa Simone] Kelly’s administration of the Estate,” the settlement read.

Kelly made it clear that she has nothing for Harris with reference to her family.

“With grandma Nina being as famous as she is. With all of these artists covering her. Her name & likeness being used by damn near everybody. Why is it that her family is living paycheck to paycheck? Why do I have to consider stripping to pay my bills,” she expressed.

Simone’s granddaughter also stated that she peeped the vice president’s slight during the second-in-command’s swearing-in ceremony.

“OH WAIT, While we’re asking Kamala questions ask her why after all of this pain and suffering she put us through a Nina Simone song was sang at the inauguration to swear her in as VP?! She knew what she was doing,” Kelly wrote.

It’s safe to say that the Simone family is good on Harris.

Over 7.3 Million Black Households Have a Net Worth Less Than $10,000, According to New Study

In order to build wealth, you have to manage your net worth. For millions of Black families, net worth growth has been obliterated by overwhelming amounts of debt and limited appreciating assets.

According to the economic state of Black America report, an estimated 3.5 million black families (19%) have a negative net worth. In other words, almost one out of every five Black people are impacted by the net worth dilemma. Only 8% of White households have a negative net worth.

Combating Negative Net Worth by Managing Debt

The main culprit of depressing net worth numbers for many Black families is debt. Teri Ijeoma, a top course creator on Teachable, has helped many pay off debt. She’s taught hundreds of people how to make money in the stock market through her trading courses.

For those who are seeking an alternative route to debt freedom, there are options. Philly-based financial coach Shaquana Watson-Harkness shares her best tip to create financial success. She implemented simple savings and expense reduction strategies. Watson-Harkness was able to pay off $169,000 worth of debt in two years.

Keys to Build Wealth in the Black Community

While paying off debt is one barrier to financial success, saving and investing remains another challenge.  The report states that an additional 4.3 million Black households have a net worth below $10,000.

John W. Rogers, Jr., founder of Ariel Investments, created a school on the south side of Chicago to address this issue. His school, Ariel Community Academy, helps kids learn the ins and outs of saving and investing so they can be economically empowered to make thoughtful financial decisions.

“To me, financial literacy is not just about saving, credit cards, retirement, and home mortgages,” Rogers said during an interview with Black Enterprise. “All those things are important. But equally important is understanding how to invest in the equities market and compound money. Long-term stock market returns have substantially outperformed the returns on savings accounts.”

Report Highlights Millionaire Stats

Investing has contributed to the net worth success of many families for centuries. But starting a profitable business has been instrumental to helping many Black families improve their net worth.  Today, there are approximately $340,000 Black families (2%) who have surpassed the one million dollar mark.

But one million dollars is becoming the norm for other racial groups. Almost one out of seven white families have a net worth above one million. Because of a history of laws and practices that have prevented Black Americans from fully participating in the economy, Black families have always lagged behind their counterparts in the net worth circle.

The economic state of Black America report released by McKinsey & Company last week highlights critical gaps that Black Americans face on their net worth journey. The study examines how occupational choices, entrepreneurship, savings and investing habits, and historical patterns contribute to the net worth status of Black Americans. According to the report, addressing wage inequities alone could push two million Black Americans into the middle class for the first time.

DMX’s Fiancée Desiree Lindstrom And His Adult Children Embroiled In Heated Battle Over Estate

Nearly three months after rapper DMX’s tragic death, a battle over his estate has begun.

According to Page Six, the fallen emcee’s children and his fiancée Desiree Lindstrom are fighting over his assets. DMX didn’t have a will. Lindstrom, the mother of his 5-year-old-son Exodus, petitioned the court to be legally declared his “common-law wife,” but a magistrate denied the request. If the judge had ruled in her favor, she would have had sole control over the deceased rapper’s potential earnings and the say in his affairs.

It’s important to note that New York State hasn’t recognized common-law marriages since 1933.

As the battle royale over his estate gets heated, six adult children, including three adult sons from his marriage to Tashera Simmons– Xavier, 28, Tacoma, 21, and Sean, 19 already have petitioned to be administrators. In addition, his two adult daughters from outside the marriage, Sasha Simmons and Jada Oden, also are filing to be administrators.

DMX has 14 legally recognized children, but New York law requires heirs to be over 18 to be appointed as executors of a deceased person’s estate.

A person close to the rapper told Page Six that not having a will has caused issues among his family.

The insider said, “There is no will from DMX, and that’s a big problem. This is a difficult situation because there are a number of people vying to be named administrators. His fiancée Desiree tried to muscle in by asking the court to be named his common-law wife, which means she would have taken precedence over his children. But the court refused.”

The rapper had an estimated worth of negative $1 million as of January.

A court date to determine the executor/ executors of DMX’s estate is scheduled for July 15.

She Dropped Out of College, And Then Made Over $100,000 in 4 Months with Her Tax Business

When Cortney Rose realized the earnings potential associated with a tax business,  she dived in and made over $100,000 during her first four months. Rose told Voyage Dallas that the tax industry has allowed her to consistently earn six figures in four months since age 23, working from January through April to prepare tax returns. Now, she offers additional services to help her clients achieve their financial goals throughout the year.

Rose didn’t walk the traditional path to six-figure success. She dropped out of college, gained experience working for free, formulated a business plan, and trained a team of individuals who could join her on her journey. Now, she earns more than the average Black millennial with a Bachelor’s degree. Census data reveals that Black millennials with a Bachelor’s degree earn an average of $44,498.

Rose’s secret to getting over the revenue hump didn’t involve a complicated formula. First, she found a profitable business opportunity. Then, she sought out learning opportunities that would position her for success as an entrepreneur. When it comes to her tax business, Rose says that the software is so smart that it does most of the work for you.

“As long as you can read, write, data enter information, and ask questions, you can do a tax return,” Rose shares on the Social Proof Podcast. “You take information directly off a sheet of paper … [and] plug it in the computer. You’re doing a return in all of ten minutes and get paid a few hundred dollars. You’re making hundreds of dollars in minutes.”

She adds, “We are nothing than a fancy clerical entry specialist that has information and knowledge about how the tax law works. We’re able to answer questions for our clients but that’s all that we are doing.”

Building a Six-Figure Tax Business in 4 Months

Rose’s annual revenue numbers are record breaking. According to a 2019 State of Women Owned Businesses report, Black women entrepreneurs earn an average revenue of $24,000 per firm. Other women-owned businesses earn five times this amount, generating an average of $142,900 per year.

Rose’s mom fueled her motivation to start a profitable business. After her mom built a successful real estate business, Rose’s family lost everything during the 2007-2008 market crash. Rose knew that she had to step up to the plate and bring in income that would allow her family to maintain their lifestyle. She was only making $30,000 a year at her job. But an encounter with a tax entrepreneur who filed her taxes paved the way for a life-changing opportunity.

“2011 I worked for his company,” Rose told Voyage Dallas. “It turned out he didn’t pay me after bringing over 100 clients to his business, which equaled over $25,000 dollars. I used what I learned from him, took the lessons and the loss, and laid it as the foundation to build my company. 2012 I cashed out my 401k and dumped every dollar I had toward my business.”

Rose’s business, Tax Time & Co., provides accounting, tax preparation, and consulting services for personal and businesses all over the country. She started off making six-figures in four months with her team. Now, Rose has positioned herself to have six-figure months.

Teaching Others How to Make 5-Figures in 4 Months

Reports show that Black women are the fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs in the U.S. but lag behind their white counterparts when it comes to generating revenue. Since Rose has had success in her tax business for nearly a decade, she’s committed to helping others enjoy the same levels of success.

Rose took all of her community tax training experiences and programs and digitized her knowledge. Her “No 9-5, A Mini Tax Course, Make 5-figures in 4-months” teach others the basics of the tax industry.

“Every year I’ve had a team,” Rose shares on the Social Proof Podcast. “I always felt that it would be wrong for me be grinding and getting this money knowing that this industry changed my life. I’ve always carried a team no matter the work and the weight that they brought with me. I just feel like it’s the rent that you pay for having a good life. You want to bless other people.”

She adds, “I want to teach other people that it’s possible to make six-figures in four months.”

Has the Van Jones and Kim Kardashian Dating Rumor Helped Jones’ Love Life?

The Internet has been buzzing with rumors that Kim Kardashian and CNN’s political commentator Van Jones are an item on the dating scene. Insider reported that it is not true, but Jones’ love life has been on the upswing because of it.

http://

With Kardashian’s break up from Kanye West, people are more curious about what Kim is doing in her personal life since she was rather public about life with her former beau. But when TV host Andy Cohen’s chat about the longtime reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ reunion heated up, Kim’s love life popped up. The reality star clarified that no romantic sparks existed between herself and Jones, but her homie may be reaping an extra benefit elsewhere.

“Van texted me and was like, ‘this rumor has gotten me so many dates, and I’m so grateful, so I owe you,'” Kardashian said to Cohen.

Page Six reported that Jones and Kardashian’s friendship is partially linked to their work on criminal justice reform. In line with this, Jones said that Kardashian would make an “unbelievable attorney” when he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The U.S. Sun reported that Kim wanted to become a lawyer, although she has not earned a college degree. Additionally, ET revealed that Kardashian was rumored to be spending time dating Colombian singing sensation Maluma instead of hitting the books exclusively.

The interview also confirmed Kardashian’s response that she is only pals with Jones. While it was noted that a few meetings in Miami with Maluma happened, the gathering was nothing more.

Kanye and Kim are reportedly in co-parenting mode, although the “Jesus Walks” emcee is allegedly just fine with moving on to another romantic interest. For those wanting to know more tea, Part 2 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians: The Final Curtain is scheduled to air on June 20 at 8 p.m. PT/ET on E!

Carmelo Anthony Allegedly Has Mistress And Newborn Twins In London, And She’s Tired of Being A Secret

Amid Lala Anthony’s divorce announcement, a woman has come forward alleging that her newborns’ daddy is none other than Anthony’s husband of 11 years, NBA player Carmelo Anthony.

According to Hollywood Unlocked, an unidentified woman from across the pond dropped alleged receipts of her trysts with the baller and of her twins she shares with him.

The unnamed sidepiece, who lives, in London, also claimed that Carmelo hid his new family from his wife and the public. She told the publication that another celebrity intervened to find out the truth for LaLa.

The mistress stated that the two met in New York City in 2020, and she knew that he was married, but maintained he acted single.

Ok, girl.

The side chick alleged that she didn’t feel about messing with LaLa’s husband because the actress was supposedly doing her own thing.

The salaciousness of the love triangle got worse when Carmelo’s baby’s mama found out she was pregnant in September. The 38-year-old woman initially planned to get a medically-induced abortion in Los Angeles, but the New York native failed to accompany her to the procedure.

It’s not clear if she tried to reschedule the abortion, but ultimately– she revealed to Hollywood Unlocked that the woman gave birth to twin boys. After that, the philandering baller attempted to convince the woman to unlink himself from her and her chirren completely– but not before he made a plethora of empty promises. Old girl was smarter than that, though.

She had the babies in April, some two months before her June due date. Her son has had surgery and remains in a London hospital.

Even though it appears that Carmelo wants nothing to do with her or his outside babies, the mistress feels the married man must be in his children’s lives. He does provide money and a place for her to live, but the sidepiece doesn’t want to be a kept woman.

The sidepiece disclosed to Hollywood Unlocked that she realized she’s been “living a whole lie.”

Being with someone else’s husband has reportedly taken a toll on the new mother. The publication also revealed that she had thought about committing suicide.

Thoughts and prayers, chile.

Although the alleged affair isn’t the first time the baller has reportedly stepped out on LaLa, the publicity behind this affair appeared to be in the nail in the coffin for the Power actress.

We wish all parties involved the best.
