‘No Monthly Allowances’ Nick Cannon Clarifies Being A ‘Provider’ to His Six Baby Mamas

Nick Cannon is a proud “provider” to his 11 children and their mothers. But he isn’t giving out “monthly allowances” or anything.

The Masked Singer host has been out promoting his Future Superstar tour and was recently asked about his relationships with his baby mamas and whether or not he’s breaking the bank to provide for his multiple families.

“It ain’t even about a monthly allowance or amount of money because I don’t give myself that,” he told Hot 104.1. “What they need, they get it.”

“There’s never been something that one of the mothers of my children has asked for and they didn’t receive…. That’s why they call me the provider,” he added.

Cannon, who fathered 12 children with six different women, expressed his love for each of his kids’ mothers for blessing him with the gift of fatherhood.

“I have so much respect and admiration for the individual,” he said.

“Everybody has their challenges – but when you really understand this woman has given the greatest sacrifice, and sacrificed her body to bring a child into (this world), that’s the best gift any man could ask for.”

“Regardless of what goes on in any scenario, I’m gonna always show love and respect,” he continued. “I’ll never say anything disrespectful or bad about any of the mothers of my children.”

The Wild N’ Out creator also hinted at possibly welcoming more children since he’s not entirely closed off to the idea.

“Is that a challenge?… I really don’t know,” Cannon jokingly asked. “I (tried) to say I wasn’t having (anymore) kids after two, after six, after eight… I don’t know, to be honest….”

Cannon recently praised his ex-wife Mariah Carey for being “a gift from God” and expressed his regrets for cheating and causing their 2016 divorce.

“I will never have a love like I had with Mariah.” Cannon said on The Hottie Show Podcast.

“It was literally like a fairytale with Mariah so I would rather it just be that way. I appreciate that fantasy because if I tried to go back and it wasn’t the same, I’d be like, ‘Damn, I messed it up.’ But, if I had the opportunity, if it could be the way it was, I’m there.”

Lil Wayne Denies $150M Net Worth Listed on Google, ‘I Don’t Have A Cent Close To That Sh*t’

Lil Wayne is unaware of the $150 million net worth that Google claims he has. The rapper recently denied having “a cent close to that sh*t.”

“Honestly, I’m gonna let everybody know now, when you go check a muthaf**ka’s net worth and that sh*t be saying some crazy numbers, I don’t have a cent close to that sh*t,” Wayne said on a recent appearance on Culture Millennials.

“Yeah, I don’t have that, but I guess they be meaning that’s what I’m worth.”

The Young Money creator says his Google net worth estimate has caused him to question his accountant about any shady business going on without his knowledge.

“I be always calling my agent and being like, ‘I’m telling you, bro, I’m gonna fire the sh*t out of you ’cause I don’t need you,” he quipped before noting how his Google-listed net worth serves as “motivation” to grind harder.

“I Googled that, you know what I mean? I’m like I’m a zillion dollar ni**a on Google bro … It’s motivation, that’s all. It’s just motivation.”

The rapper did recently sell his Miami mansion for $28 million. Despite his claims, outlets like Wealthy Gorilla list Wayne’s net worth at $170 million. Celebrity Net Worth credits the “A Milli” rapper’s net worth to the more than $100 million records he’s sold throughout his career and the sale of Young Money Masters to Universal Music for $100 million in July 2020.

The sale included the music catalog for rappers Drake and Nicki Minaj, two chart-topping artists Wayne signed early in their careers. While Lil Wayne denies having $150 million, his friend Jay-Z recently had Forbes update his net worth to $2.5 billion.

“Even in a year without a tour or album release, Jay-Z mints millions from his Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Usse cognac,” Forbes’ states.

Never Too Late: Pardon Sought For Illinois Man Executed in 1908

Never Too Late: Pardon Sought For Illinois Man Executed in 1908

When it comes to injustices carried out against our people, the list is vast and endless.

In 1908, a Black man named Joe James, was sleeping underneath a tree when he was accosted, beaten. and then arrested for allegedly murdering a white man in Springfield, Illinois. Before his trial and subsequent execution, a mob of white people seeking vengeance for his crime took out their anger on innocent Black people in the state’s capitol.

The race riot saw many Black-owned businesses and homes looted and destroyed. Two Black men were lynched in the weeks leading up to the conviction of James by an all-white jury, according to the legal teams petitioning for an executive pardon nearly 114 years after the execution, the Associated Press reports.

The riots ultimately led to the formation of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

“James’ factual innocence is not the focus of this petition, because the passage of time and the destruction of evidence have made it impossible to prove conclusively that James was innocent,” said Steve Drizin, co-director of Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law’s Center on Wrongful Convictions, told the AP.

The Center on Wrongful Convictions and Northeastern University School of Law’s Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Project in Boston filed a petition for executive clemency this month. The petition would then go before the review board to determine if it can be presented to Governor J.B. Pritzker for an official pardon.

“Throughout history, we have seen white juries not only convict and execute Black men and women on scant evidence but acquit whites who murder Black people in the face of overwhelming evidence of guilt,” said Margaret Burnham, founding director of Northeastern’s Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Project. “This double standard operated in Springfield in 1908, infecting Springfield’s criminal justice system and depriving James of a fair trial.”

Joe James was accused of entering the home of Clergy Ballard and being discovered by Ballard’s 16-year-old daughter, who awoke to find the man sitting on her bed. After chasing James out of his home, reports at that time said that Ballard was stabbed or cut to death during a struggle that ensued.

James was arrested hours later and put in jail alongside another Black man, George Richardson, who was accused of sexually assaulting a white woman. Afraid for their safety, authorities relocated them to another county, incensing the white people in Sangamon County. Their sights turned to the Black people in town but it is not documented how many were injured or killed in the riot.

In 2020, the site of the riot near downtown Springfield was added to the National Park Service’s African American Civil Rights Network, according to the AP.

It’s Her Anniversary: Mariah Carey Celebrates 54th Birthday By Jumping Off A Yacht

It’s our favorite elusive chanteuses’ birthday, and she’s celebrating it in luxury…of course!

It’s hard to think of a time when music didn’t have Mariah Carey’s voice firmly cemented as one of the best because the 5-time Grammy Award winner has been hard at work since the tender age of 18. Decades later, she still shows us how to live life to the fullest and be glamorous.

The “Butterfly” singer took flight over the weekend when she jumped off the side of a yacht into crystal blue waters to celebrate her 54th birthday. Donning a pink and black wetsuit, the mother of two posted her “anniversary” dip to Instagram at 3:27 p.m. to commemorate her date of birth.

Her beloved fans—who she lovingly refers to as the “lambly”—flooded her post with comments and well wishes while her longtime partner, Bryan Tanaka, posted his own tribute to the “We Belong Together” singer. “This is one of my favorite pictures. Ever. Happy Anniversary my Beautiful Queen” wrote the choreographer alongside a photo of the pair.

Her ex-husband, Nick Cannon, with whom she shares twins Monroe and Morocco (11), recently spoke highly of his experience in their eight-year marriage. “I was 12 years old with Mariah Carey pictures on my wall, and [she] becomes my wife. And the fact that she’s the coolest person I ever met”, he reflected, “She’s just always happy, always doing for others. No matter what’s happening in life. I’m like, ‘Wow, a person can really operate like that and don’t allow negative energy into they space.’ When I found that out about how remarkable she was—that woman is not human. She’s a gift from God. I get a lot of this delightful disposition from her.”

Mariah has gracefully moved into OG status in the music industry, collaborating with the next generation of performers like singer Ariana Grande and rapper Latto with whom she performed “Big Energy” —a track that samples Carey’s 1995 hit “Fantasy—at the 2022 BET Awards. She seems poised to continue sharing the spotlight with the girls of now as she announced that she’ll co-headline this year’s Pride Weekend in Los Angeles alongside Megan Thee Stallion on June 10.

In the meantime, Mariah’s hit “It’s A Wrap” continues to dominate TikTok videos and IG reels, with over 3 million videos utilizing the sound since its debut in late January.

LeBron James Family Foundation, Starbucks to Open Community Store Employing I Promise Students and Families

Los Angeles Lakers’ star LeBron James continues to give back to his hometown.

Earlier this month, the LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF) announced its partnership with the Starbucks Coffee Company: a “community store” will be featured in LJFF’s House Three Thirty in Akron, Ohio, run by James’ I Promise students, teachers, parents, and other family members.

“The vision for House Three Thirty is to serve our families’ needs for more work experience and hands-on job training. That extends to every single facet of the expansive space, including this one-of-a-kind Starbucks location,” said Michele Campbell, executive director of the LeBron James Family Foundation in a written statement. “We’re so thankful to Starbucks for trusting us to help rewrite the handbook on what job training looks like and how we can employ people for their futures. What you can expect from this location is caring and prepared team members, ‘be best’ service, a warm and welcoming environment, and a community model that we believe can change the world.”

Utilizing the LeBron James Family Foundation’s signature “We Are Family” slogan, the reimagined training program will provide the skills necessary in achieving career goals. There will also be an emphasis on essential life skills. Proceeds of all sales will go to the foundation.

House Three Thirty opens this Thursday; the Starbucks will be located inside the building.

House Three Thirty is a multi-use space for the community to assemble and engage in immediately impactful programming. The store is located within walking distance of the I Promise School and will feature a family sitting area as well as an outdoor patio that anyone can access.

“The opportunity to learn, work and serve my community in this incredible way is life-changing for me and everyone who works at House Three Thirty,” said D’Onjai White, Starbucks assistant store manager and House Three Thirty team member. “We’re looking forward to providing a whole new ‘We Are Family’ kind of service you can only get here because this opportunity means the world to us.”

GloRilla Teams With Tommy Hilfiger And Salutes Aaliyah In New Tommy Jeans Campaign

It looks like corporate America is taking a liking to CMG artist GloRilla! The “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” rapper has joined forces with Tommy Jeans as the face of the brand’s latest campaign.

GloRilla revealed the good news during an interview with Paper Magazine. The campaign collaborates with Aries and finds the Memphis rapper decked out in stylish Tommy Hilfiger pieces.

“I’m a big Aaliyah fan, and I love what she did with them,” GloRilla said to Paper, speaking to the late-singers 1996 Tommy Hilfiger campaign. “I’m part of keeping a legacy going.”

Glo added: “I feel highly favored because it could have been anyone else but me,” adding, “I gotta make sure I keep it going. Memphis is getting the notoriety it deserves.”

In the campaign, GloRilla can be seen wearing oversized t-shirts and baggy jeans, which are two-tone, reminiscent of the1990s.

“It’s refreshing to me because I love the old-school and being able to bring it to my generation,” Glo told Paper.

GloRilla hails from Memphis, where the Blues thrived, and labels such as Stax and Satellite Records. She follows a long line of powerful women in hip-hop also from Memphis, including the late Gangsta Boo, Princess Loko, La Chat, Dutchess, and Savages

Earlier this year, GloRilla sat with The Cut to discuss her upbringing, her organically well-received single “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” adjusting to an exhausting schedule as a famous rapper, and new crisp dead presidents lining her pockets.

“Money change the people around you. It don’t change you, per se. It fasho change people around you, though,” Glo said to The Cut

She added: “I don’t got a problem cutting people off, and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. But I have no problem cutting people off once I see what type of stuff they be on. They just got to go. Because it ain’t no room for that no more. I’m on a whole ’nother level now, and if you’re still on bullsh*t, then I just don’t want to talk to you.“

A Black Woman Alleges Her Landlord Attempted To Evict Her Because She Is Black

A Black Woman Alleges Her Landlord Attempted To Evict Her Because She Is Black

A woman from Ohio is suing her landlord for allegedly evicting her because she is Black.

According to BuzzFeed News, Dermisha Pickett filed a lawsuit against Sergey Briskman, accusing him of discrimination, violating housing laws, and inflicting emotional distress. BuzzFeed reports that Briskman told Pickett, “I just don’t want any African Americans in this unit at this time.”

BuzzFeed adds that the eviction complaint gave Pickett a 30-day notice to vacate the home. According to BuzzFeed, the eviction complaint also said Pickett’s lease was close to expiring.

According to the report, Pickett claims that she was not notified of her lease nearing its end.

The report also says that on Feb. 10, Briskman texted Pickett, saying he was evicting her because she is Black.

“I will not rent [to] African Americans again. I don’t know why the previous landlord did,” Briskman allegedly texted, according to BuzzFeed.

“I’m not fixing anything until you leave the house so I will make sure it doesn’t pass inspection on 2/15 so there’s your answer bye,” Briskman allegedly added in the text message

“It’s nothing against you I will just rather put a white family in this unit,” Briskman allegedly added. “You did nothing wrong. I just don’t want a family of color here. Maybe you should try to go to a shelter,” the message read.

“Do you know when you will be giving me the keys? Time is running out. I will talk to the other landlord and tell them you’re a good tenant and pay the rent on time and always keep a clean house,” Briskman allegedly said. “I just don’t want you here at this property or have you looked into trying to get into a shelter for you and your family. I really don’t want to call the police to get your things out.”

BuzzFeed reports that Pickett, who has six children, began having issues with Briskman in 2021.

Lawsuit Claims Kansas City Police Officer Told To be ‘Ready to Kill’ and Respond To Calls From White Neighborhoods Only

Lawsuit Claims Kansas City Police Officer Told To be ‘Ready to Kill’ and Respond To Calls From White Neighborhoods Only

A police officer from Kansas City is trying to put a stop to racial discrimination.

The Kansas City Star reports officer Edward Williams has filed an employment discrimination lawsuit after claiming his superiors told him to target minority residents during traffic stops to reach ticket quotas—a practice illegal in Missouri.

The lawsuit states police leaders ignored the law by encouraging officers to meet ticket goals in the traffic unit as part of its measured performance. It doesn’t stop there. The 21-year police veteran, who is white, also claims a former department captain instructed officers to only respond to calls from white neighborhoods because “those are the folks who are actually paying for the police.”

According to the lawsuit, that same captain told Williams and others to “approach every car with the mindset to be ready to kill everybody in the car.” “This directive came straight from the then-Chief of Police Richard Smith,” Williams claims in the suit, according to KCUR. Smith was criticized for gatekeeping cases of excessive force against people of color and his reaction to #BlackLivesMatter protests.

After he raised concerns with his superiors about “potentially racially discriminatory” policies, the 21-year police vet claims he was punished,  labeled a “whistleblower,” and discriminated against due to his age, 44, and disabled. Current KCPD Chief Stacy Graves says the department has received several inquiries about the lawsuit. “I find these allegations very concerning and will immediately ensure the Traffic Division is reminded to operate and enforce laws appropriately,” Graves said.

“KCPD is dedicated to policing that is both equitable and fair in all aspects of our duties.”

Laws in the Show Me state prohibit law enforcement agencies from having policies that require or encourage an employee to meet a specific number of citations for traffic violations on a quota basis. Williams said. In the suit, he was put on a “personal performance improvement plan” due to his “low ticket quota” in 2021. He says he verbally instructed to stop 10 cars a day for a year.

Black Lives Matter Grassroots Lawsuit Against Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation Will Determine Whether BLM Gets Their Day In Court

Black Lives Matter Grassroots Lawsuit Against Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation Will Determine Whether BLM Gets Their Day In Court

In a newly released statement, Black Lives Matter Grassroots announces the upcoming court hearing against Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (GNF) and “Shalomyah” Bowers, a highly-paid consultant, who took nearly $2.2 million in consulting fees in 2020 alone. In March 2022, Bowers declared his intent to hold on to Black Lives Matter’s resources and communications platforms, continuing to pay himself millions of dollars in consulting fees. After nearly 6 months of attempting to negotiate, Black Lives Matter Grassroots, the on-the-ground movement of chapters, organizers, and families impacted by police and white-supremacist violence, filed a lawsuit.

The lawsuit has provided insight into where some of the $90 million in donations received during the 2020 uprisings may have been spent and accuses the defendants of fraud, conversion, unjust enrichment, unfair business practices, and using the organization as a “personal piggy bank” while continuing to betray donors and the public trust by self-dealing and breaching their fiduciary duties. No information on how much money has been raised or spent since the tremendous influx of resources nearly 3 years ago has been provided, but had been previously estimated at millions each month. Additionally, the lawsuit also states that Bowers had the passwords on the BLM social media channels changed to lock organizers out of the platforms. Before the hostile takeover, the social media accounts were predominantly managed by Dr. Melina Abdullah, who co-founded BLM Los Angeles and is the Director of Black Lives Matter Grassroots.

Now, GNF and Bowers are attempting to block the people who birthed, built, and fuel the movement from having their day in court using a legal maneuver meant to protect ordinary people from giant corporations – an anti-SLAPP motion. GNF is trying to convince a judge that the legal action by BLM Grassroots violates their first amendment rights. We maintain that although fundraising is a first amendment right, committing fraud and theft is not. This is the core issue of the lawsuit, and we are working to ensure that Black Lives Matter Grassroots is granted the opportunity to present the people’s case and hold GNF and unscrupulous consultants accountable.

GNF’s motion is scheduled to be heard on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 8:30AM at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Downtown Los Angeles, Department 19 (111 N. Hill St.), and Bowers’ motion is scheduled separately for April 5, 2023 at 8:30AM in the same courtroom.

Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Eva Marcille Files for Divorce from Michael Sterling

This model and actress does not want to be a Real Housewife anymore!

According to People, reality TV celebrity and Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Eva Marcille is taking that path down splitsville as she has filed for divorce from her husband, Michael Sterling.

The couple, who have been married since October 2018, filed the necessary legal documents at the Superior Court of Fulton County last Thursday. The papers were filed on March 23, with Marcille citing that she and the attorney are “currently living in a bona fide state of separation.”

“This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting,” Marcille told People in an exclusive statement to the media outlet exclusively. “Our children remain our biggest priority and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”

She filed the divorce paper and stated that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

The separated couple share three children: 4-year-old Michael Sterling, Jr., and Maverick Sterling, 3. They were also parenting Marcille’s daughter Marley Rae, who she had with a previous partner, Kevin McCall.

In her lawsuit, she requests the court award her “equitable division” of the couple’s assets they both acquired during their marriage, as well as her own separate property. She wants whatever debt the pair have to be “equitably divided” too.

USA Today has reported that Marcille has stated there are “no prospects for a reconciliation.” She also wants primary physical custody of her children with Sterling while having “final decision-making authority” on “a temporary and permanent basis.”

There is a request for child support and for Sterling making contributions to the children’s medical expenses.

Marcille and Sterling, a trial lawyer, starred on the Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta from 2018 to 2021.
