Tabitha Brown Issues a Classy Clap Back at Wendy Williams’ Criticism About Retiring Her Husband

Talk show host Wendy Williams is known for dishing dirt and throwing shade about celebrities, but this time the queen of “Hot Topics” found herself in the hot seat with a well-liked “vegan food influencer.”

Tabitha Brown, who rose to fame with her folksy southern charm, and viral videos of meat-free recipes, shut down Williams’ messy fiesta with smiles and prayers after Williams dissed Brown for revealing that she retired her husband, a former police officer, after earning fame with increased earnings in her bank account.

Brown posted a YouTube video entitled “A 15 year dream has finally come true!! I’m retiring my husband!!!” on Jun 26, 2021. The 56-year-old gossip girl compared Brown’s husband Chance to her cheating ex-husband Kevin Hunter. Many social media users came for Williams and her verbal assault on “Auntie” Tabitha Brown.

In the first video, Brown reminisced about the early years of trying to make it as an actress. She explained that she and her family came to Los Angeles in 2004 with approximately $8,000 saved up to pursue an acting career. Upon arriving in California, Brown said that she landed a job at the retailer, Macy’s. Her husband, Chance Brown, began working as a police officer to support his wife while providing a stable income.

“I told him, I said ‘OK, bae, if you do this job, if you take on this journey in this career, give me five years,” Brown shared in the video.

The influencer revealed that her long-term plan was to retire her husband to enable him to be in a position to pursue a dream of his own. Fifteen years later, Brown informed her husband that the time had come. Chance appeared on camera while admitting that he felt “good” but had conflicting feelings about leaving behind a part of “one of his seasons,” which is working as a police officer.

When Williams decided to discuss Brown on The Wendy Williams Show, she focused on Brown’s announcement to “retire” her husband without sharing the couple’s backstory.

“I was married to one of those. You know, I make the money and so on and so forth. Go live your dreams. Buy a business. You know, stay with me, but go, go, go. You see how that turned out. I predict that this marriage is going to be on real rocky ground in a moment,” Williams said, predicting that the marriage wouldn’t last long.

Williams’ ex-husband allegedly had an affair and a baby by his mistress, Sharina Hudson. The situation led to Williams getting divorced in 2020 after 22 years of marriage. Williams reportedly paid alimony.

Social media is buzzing about Brown’s classy clap-back. It began with blessing Williams, then she commented about “the pain this woman must be in to feel this way,” and that she was “so sorry.” She spoke about the 23 years of matrimony she’s enjoyed with Chance and recapped that they were “broke for a very long time—together.” However, Brown credited God for allowing dreams to manifest.

“We keep Him first. He is first in our marriage,” Brown said with a smile, referring to God. “Not money. Not business. Not success, but God. He is first.”

Brown closed her response by informing Williams that “she hopes true love finds her and holds her tight.” You may watch Brown’s video message by clicking here.

Houston Boy Celebrated After Saving 5-Year-Old Girl From Drowning

A 10-year-old boy in Houston is being hailed as a hometown hero after he sprung into action and saved a little 5-year-old girl from drowning in a swimming pool.

Rickie August Jr. moved fast on Sunday after he saw a lifeless girl lying in the bottom of an apartment complex pool, KHOU reports. August was swimming at the Retreat at Cypress Station Apartments’ pool when he saw little Egypt Bradly unconscious at the bottom.

“I just acted. I didn’t think about nothing,” August, who prefers to be called ‘Junior’, said. “She was not breathing at all. She was like passed out. I was very scared, and it was just super sad.”

With Bradly appearing lifeless, Junior acted quickly and started swimming up for air and then swimming back down to get to the girl, Click 2 Houston reports.

“When I saw her not moving at all, I knew there was something wrong,” Junior said. “I knew that she was not just trying to float, so I just had to go down there and get her.”

Bradly’s family quickly began CPR on her. Too afraid to watch the outcome, Junior turned away. But shortly after, an EMT came to tell the boy that he helped to save Bradly’s life.

On Wednesday, the Bradly family attended a party Junior’s family threw for him to celebrate his heroic act.

“I love you,” Egypt’s mom, Diamond Paulhill, told Junior when she met him. “I was so scared. My baby was not breathing. She wasn’t doing nothing. Not moving.”

Junior’s family praised the little boy for being brave enough to help save a life.

“And also inspired,” said Tonya Taylor, Junior’s aunt. “It doesn’t matter your size or your age… you can make a difference. You can save a life. You can change the world. The whole family is extremely proud of him.”

Junior says he feels like a hero because he is one.

“I felt like I was a real hero,” he said.

Women’s 100 Meters Champion Sha’Carri Richardson Suspended For Marijuana, May Still Compete At Olympics

Women’s 100 Meters Champion Sha’Carri Richardson Suspended For Marijuana, May Still Compete At Olympics

Sha’Carri Richardson, who gained national attention by winning the 100 meters at the U.S. Track and Field Olympic trials, has been suspended for thirty days after she tested positive for marijuana.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) made the announcement early Friday morning putting the Tokyo Olympics later this month in doubt for the LSU Tiger. Richardson did not shy away from the positive test and is taking responsibility for it.

“I know what I did. I know what I’m supposed to do … and I still made that decision,” Richardson said on NBC Today Friday.

During the interview Richardson explained that she used marijuana after she learned her biological mother passed away from a reporter at the Olympic trials which were being held in Eugene, Oregon.

“That sent me in a state of emotional panic, if anything…even though, I’m here, I still have to go out to put a performance for my dream,”

Recreational marijuana use is legal in Oregon, 18 other states and Washington D.C., however it is banned from track and field. Richardson will be unable to compete in her signature race the hundred meter dash which she won last week in a stunning 10.87 seconds.

However, all is not lost for the track star as she still has a shot to compete in the 4×100 relay because that event will take place after her 30 days suspension has concluded.

During the interview with today, Richardson added she would be grateful for the opportunity to run in the 4×100 relay, but for now she’s focusing on herself and healing. She also apologized to her fans and thanked them and her girlfriend, who helped her during the Olympic trials for their support.

“Don’t judge me, because I am human, I’m you, I just happen to run a little faster,” Richardson said.

The Summer Olympics will be held in Tokyo, Japan later this month. Opening ceremonies are set to take place on July 23 and closing ceremonies will be conducted Sunday August 8.

House Majority Whip James Clyburn Jumps In To Save George Floyd Policing Bill

House Majority Whip James Clyburn Jumps In To Save George Floyd Policing Bill

House Majority Whip James Clyburn has stepped in to assist in bipartisan talks on the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act as police organizations refuse to bend on qualified immunity.

According to The Grio, Clyburn has called fellow Carolinian and Republican Sen. Tim Scott to keep negotiations alive as talks are collapsing. In an odd twist, Sen. Lindsey Graham has been holding weekly conversations with attorney Ben Crump, who is representing George Floyd‘s family to ensure the proposed legislation will be meaningful to the family and other families who’ve lost someone to a police shooting.

The country is still waiting for Sen. Scott’s version of the policing act, but its unclear when he will released considering he’s already missed a deadline this week. Scott was negotiating with Democratic Sens. Cory Booker (N.J.) and Karen Bass (Calif.) but those talks have stalled, which lead to Clyburn’s appearance.

The stalling point seems to be police organizations who are trying to avoid accountability and transparency, particularly when it comes to qualified immunity. Law enforcement organizations including the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives and the National Sheriffs’ Association are concerned about the cost of lawsuits if qualified immunity is terminated.

Qualified immunity shields government officials, including police, from being held personally liable for constitutional violations as long as the officials do not violate a person’s civil rights.

Those close to the negotiations told Yahoo News the talks have been a “mess” and in “total disarray” as the police organizations refuse to agree to any restrictions.

According to a CBS News report, 164 black men and women had their lives ended by a cop in the first eight months of 2020, proving even the protests didn’t stop police from taking Black lives. According to Crump, more than 90% of the cases where a police officer shoots a Black person end up being dismissed due to qualified immunity.

Bill Cosby Accuser Angela Leslie Says ‘I’m Shocked’ About the Comedian’s Release

The world is definitely in shock with Wednesday’s revelation that comedian Bill Cosby was being released from jail due to a former prosecutor’s deal.

On Wednesday, Pennsylvania’s highest court, the State Supreme Court, overturned Bill Cosby’s sex assault conviction, citing that previous agreement that reportedly would prevent him from being charged in the first place.

In an exclusive interview with The New York Daily News, one of Cosby’s accusers expressed her shock when she found out that he was being released, saying she was “surprised” and it was “certainly not something” she “expected.”

Angela Leslie, one of the many women who accused Cosby of sexual misconduct said that this doesn’t mean he is innocent, but that the court wasn’t supposed to bring the charges against him based on the previous agreement from the prosecutor.

“It’s because he made a deal with that prosecutor, not for any other reason,” Leslie said. “This wasn’t so much about him being locked up. I wanted him to admit what he did. He can go free, but he can’t label us as untruthful. My character is important. My reputation is important. I want the women to be seen.”

Although she doesn’t believe justice was properly served, she does hope that the 83-year-old comedian has learned a lesson during the time he was serving his sentence in prison.

“Though he served a short period, I hope he learned it’s not okay to do what he did to all these women,” she said.

After leaving prison and getting the chance to return to his home, Cosby took to Twitter to continue to proclaim his innocence.

Black Father Sentenced to 20 Years for Killing 5-year-old Son Over Eating Cheesecake Slice

Black Father Sentenced to 20 Years for Killing 5-year-old Son Over Eating Cheesecake Slice

A father of four in Milwaukee, Wisc. named Travis Stackhouse killed his 5-year-old son over a slice of Father’s Day cheesecake.

On Tuesday, Stackhouse was sentenced to stay behind bars for 20 years. He will also face eight additional years of extended supervision, per FOX6’s report. In May, Stackhouse pleaded guilty to several felony charges which included “second-degree reckless homicide, neglecting a child, and child abuse-intentionally cause harm.”

The disturbing incident dates back to June 2019, when police officers discovered the dead boy, Sir Ameer Stackhouse, after they were dispatched to a home. The child’s caretakers first told authorities that the child “fell down the stairs.” However,  the child’s injuries were not in line with the explanation. Stackhouse later said that he punched “his son in the stomach” and struck him in the face, because he ate his cheesecake, according to Fox 6.

“The average person that hears about this case can’t understand how you would beat or punch any living human being as badly as you did in this case — let alone your own child,” Judge David Borowski said to him during Stackhouse’s sentencing, per Fox 6’s report. “How you can live with yourself ever for a day — I don’t understand.”

According to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Stackhouse’s admitted to striking his son’s face “with the back of his hand.”  He reportedly decided to go out “to a bar with his friends until about 2 am.” Upon returning, Stackhouse’s girlfriend decided to call 911.

Paramedics pronounced the “child dead on the scene.” The child sustained serious injuries such as a “ruptured stomach, bruised kidneys and a torn adrenal gland.” Abdomen trauma caused his demise, per the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office’s determination.

In another report, The AP noted that Stackhouse “agreed to plead guilty to second-degree reckless homicide, child abuse and child neglect,” after the completion of two days of testimonies provided by the state’s witnesses.

Black-owned Swim Cap Brand Made For Thicker Hair Types Barred From Tokyo Olympics

After two friends named Michael Chapman and Toks Ahmed crossed paths with a woman who “struggled with the size of her swim cap,”  the entrepreneurial men designed a larger cap which could accommodate bulkier hair types, such as curly textures or Afro hair, according to the company’s website information.

The creators of SOUL CAP decided to submit approval for Olympians to be authorized to wear them, but the request was denied by FINA (the federation for international competitions in water sports), per METROUK’s report.

http://

SOUL CAPs were “barred by FINA on the grounds that to their ‘best knowledge, the athletes competing at the International events never used, neither require to use, caps of such size and configuration,” according to the news article.

To give the matter context, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics International Olympic Committee’s rules state that even two swim caps may be worn my swimmers, if the maximum size doe not surpass  “20cm2 – when worn – and placed on the front of the cap.”

The founders of SOUL CAP used their @soulcapofficial Instagram account to comment about FINA’s decision.

“We hoped to further our work for diversity in swimming by having our swim caps certified for competition, so swimmers at any level don’t have to choose between the sport they love and their hair. For younger swimmers, feeling included and seeing yourself in a sport at a young age is crucial. FINA’s recent dismissal could discourage many younger athletes from pursuing the sport as they progress through local, county and national competitive swimming. We feel there’s always room for improvement, but there’s only so much grassroots and small brands can do – we need the top to be receptive to positive change. A huge thanks to all who have supported us and our work so far. We don’t see this as a set back, but a chance to open up a dialogue to make a bigger difference,” Chapman and Ahmed said.

If the bigger swim caps do not meet the requirements set forth by FINA, the question becomes tied to  inclusion of all hair types. Could all participating swimmers be fairly accommodated, under FINA’s rules?

http://

METROUK’s report also stated that the FINA Committee described the SOUL CAP as “unsuitable due to them not ‘following the natural form of the head’.”

Ahmed and Champan told the METROUK that they felt “disappointed in this ‘failure to acknowledge the diversity of competitive swimmers’, particularly in a year where we have seen as increase in swimmers from ethnic minority backgrounds qualifying for the Olympics,” according to the article.

Trump Organization, CFO Allen Weisselberg Charged In 15-Year Tax Scheme, Concealing $1.76 Million In Income

Trump Organization, CFO Allen Weisselberg Charged In 15-Year Tax Scheme, Concealing $1.76 Million In Income

Reuters – Donald Trump‘s namesake company and longtime financial chief pleaded not guilty on Thursday to criminal charges in a sweeping indictment from Manhattan’s district attorney as he probes the former U.S. president and his business practices.

The Trump Organization and its chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg were charged with having schemed since 2005 to defraud tax authorities through the awarding of “off the books” benefits to company executives.

Weisselberg was charged with concealing $1.76 million of income including rent for a Manhattan apartment, lease payments for two Mercedes Benz vehicles and tuition for family members, with the former president signing checks for the tuition himself.

“It was orchestrated by the most senior executives who were financially benefiting themselves and the company, by getting secret pay raises at the expense of state and federal taxpayers,” prosecutor Carey Dunne said at the arraignment.

The 15-count indictment unveiled by District Attorney Cyrus Vance charged the defendants with tax fraud and falsifying business records.

Weisselberg, who has worked for Trump for 48 years, was also charged with grand larceny.

The indictment could undermine the Trump Organization’s relationships with banks and business partners.

It could also complicate Trump‘s political future, as he resumes holding rallies and mulls a 2024 White House run, even though Trump himself was not charged.

“The political Witch Hunt by the Radical Left Democrats, with New York now taking over the assignment, continues,” Trump said in a statement. “It is dividing our Country like never before!”

Vance began his still-ongoing investigation nearly three years ago and has been working in recent months with the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Both are Democrats, and attended Thursday’s arraignment in Manhattan criminal court.

Weisselberg, 73, wore handcuffs as he was led to the courtroom. He was released without bail and driven away in a black SUV, with an onlooker shouting: “You’re going to prison.”

Alan Futerfas, a lawyer for the Trump Organization, told reporters after the arraignment that the company was “very optimistic” the indictment would not significantly hurt its business.

“If the name of this company was something else, I don’t think these charges would have been brought,” he said.

COMPANY SAYS ‘THIS IS POLITICS’

In a separate statement, the Trump Organization said prosecutors were using Weisselberg as “a pawn in a scorched earth attempt to harm the former president.”

It also called Vance’s case one that neither the Internal Revenue Service nor any other district attorney would ever bring.

“This is not justice; this is politics,” the company said.

The Trump Organization could face fines and other penalties if convicted.

The indictment could increase pressure on Weisselberg to cooperate with prosecutors, which he has resisted.

That cooperation could become crucial to any future case against his boss.

The Trump Organization operates hotels, golf courses, and resorts around the world.

Before entering the White House in January 2017, Trump put his company into a trust overseen by his adult sons Donald Jr and Eric, as well as Weisselberg. It is unclear what role Trump now has at the company.

Vance has been examining a wide array of potential wrongdoing at Trump‘s company, including whether it manipulated the value of its real estate to reduce taxes and secure favorable loan terms.

He has also been examining hush money payments made before the 2016 presidential election to two women who said they had sexual encounters with Trump, which he has denied.

Michael Cohen, a former Trump lawyer who turned against his former boss and has cooperated with Vance’s probe, has said Weisselberg was involved in reimbursing him for payments to one of the women, adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

Jennifer Weisselberg, the former wife of Weisselberg’s son Barry, has been cooperating with Vance’s office, and provided tax and other financial records.

Vance has been district attorney for 11-1/2 years. He leaves office at the end of the year.
