BLACK ENTERPRISE is the first-ever Black-owned publication dedicated to the upliftment and advancement of Black business.

Created by activist and businessman Earl G. Graves Sr. the magazine gives more than financial advice. BE aimed to be a relevant voice in Black culture, keeping our community abreast of pertinent issues such as education, investment opportunities, celebrity entrepreneurship and politics.

The covers of the monthly publication served a dual purpose. While giving a preview of its contents was one objective, displaying the people and art that moved the culture was another. This Black History month, BE would like to share a few covers from its archives. Not all of them feature the most “notable” celebrities or businesspersons. Some are, simply, beautiful illustrations, Black art, that serve to give a visual to the issues that the community faces. Either way, all BE covers are history. Scroll through the BE visual timeline to check out a few that you may have missed.
