Nearly 30% of Republicans Believe Former President Donald Trump Will Be Reinstated As President This Summer ( He Won’t)

Republicans have yet to learn most of what former President Donald Trump says are lies as a poll showed 3 in 10 Republicans believe Trump will be reinstated as president.

A Politico-Morning Consult poll published Wednesday found 29% of Republicans believe Trump will be reinstated as president. However, 61% of Republicans, 84% of Democrats, and 70% of Independents do not believe he will be reinstated.

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman tweeted last month that the former president has been telling those around him that he will be reinstated as president in August. Haberman also added Trump has been pressuring conservative media to keep pushing his false election claims.

Haberman recently told CNN that claims and lies are part of an effort to move the news around him away from the joint criminal investigation being conducted by the Manhattan Attorney General Cy Vance and New York State Attorney General Letitia James.

“And none of that is possible. But this is the kind of thing that he is trying to flush into the conservative media ecosystem,” Haberman said during an appearance on CNN. “And I expect it to get more intense the more he is under investigation by the Manhattan district attorney and the state attorney general in New York and the threat of indictment over the coming months.”

Trump still has a stranglehold on the Republican Party. Politicians in the party have all but killed an investigation into the Jan. 6th Capitol storming, and have been unanimously against President Joe Biden’s stimulus packages, infrastructure, and childcare bills.

Many Republican-led states are using Trump’s election lies to introduce and push forward election restriction bills that have made it harder to vote by mail or absentee ballot, limited drop boxes, and even made it illegal to serve food and water at polling sites with hourslong lines. More than 100 of these bills have been introduced, lending credence to the idea that it’s Republicans who have reverted to cheating because they cannot win an election fairly.

The Family of Pop Smoke’s Accused Killer Wants To ‘Speak Privately’ With His Parents

.According to The New York Daily News, the family of the accused killer of rapper Pop Smoke has requested to privately speak with his parents.

The death of hip-hop artist Bashar Barakah Jackson, known as Pop Smoke,  shook the hip-hop world to its core. One of the accused murderers of the budding rapper is a 20-year-old who was the only person involved in the killing who wasn’t a minor at the time of his death. Corey Walker is one of a group of four defendants now facing charges in the death of Pop Smoke. The Brooklyn rapper was shot to death during a home-invasion robbery back in February 2020 at a rented Hollywood Hills home.

Walker’s defense attorney, Christopher Darden, spoke to The Daily News last week and stated that Walker’s relatives were hoping they can speak directly to Jackson’s parents. The family hoped to express their deep respect and heartbreak over the shared tragedy.

“The Walker family has asked me to contact the victim’s family so that they might speak privately. I hope to reach out to the family soon,” Darden said. “They might need time. I will also understand if (his mom) is not inclined to have that conversation. Everything we have done and said has been done and said while keeping in mind the great respect we have for the victim and the victim’s family.”

“This is new information to me. I’ll have to learn more,” Pop Smoke’s mother, Audrey Jackson told The Daily News. “I’m working on a lesson plan right now. That is my focus. I really can’t say.”

It was reported last month that L.A. Police Department Det. Carlos Camacho said in a preliminary court hearing that the intruder was after Pop Smoke’s Cuban link chain. The alleged gunman, Corey Walker, shot and killed Pop Smoke around 4 a.m. on Feb. 19., as Camacho described, “in the shower naked.”

The 15-year-old was unsuccessful in his robbery mission and settled on taking his Rolex. It was reported that Walker sold the watch for $2,000.

Walker is facing the death penalty if convicted, and three other underage suspects have been charged with murder and robbery, too. Walker confessed to using ski masks, gloves, and a police scanner, but oddly, the young man is pleading not guilty.

Rae Carruth’s Son, Chancellor Lee Adams, Graduates From High School

WMBF News reported that Chancellor Lee Adams, the son of the late Cherica Adams and former Carolina Panther Rae Carruth, graduated from Julius B. Chambers High School on June 5 in North Carolina.

Chancellor’s achievement is particularly inspiring since he was born with cerebral palsy and permanent brain damage after his pregnant mother was shot and killed by a hitman his father hired.

WCNC reported Chancellor’s mother died a month after she was shot, but not before she underwent an emergency Caesarean section. Chancellor’s grandmother raised him.

“I just couldn’t be prouder because Chancellor Lee has really earned all the accolades and credits that he’s receiving,” Saundra Adams told  WBTV. “He really put in a lot of the hard work.”

Despite what happened to the Adams family, Saundra told the news station that she hopes that Carruth will be proud of her grandson and contact them.

Before Chancellor graduated from high school, his grandmother started looking forward to her 21-year-old miracle’s achievements. She talked about the impact raising her grandson meant on both of their lives.

“I think I’ve learned most that, you know, even though you live life going forward, you understand it better going backward,” Saundra told Live Action in an interview. “So I can truly say that what was meant for evil, God has turned it around for our good and that we learned that we’re not victims. We are victorious that we have chosen to get better instead of being bitter. And that forgiveness is the main ingredient to make that possible.”

The recent graduate who was born prematurely faced the loss of a mother and Carruth’s presence in his life. Prosecutors determined that his father hired a hitman to kill the woman who once dated him. Carruth planned the hit to avoid paying child support, according to an accomplice.

Carruth still owes the family millions of dollars in damages.

Comedian Katt Williams, ‘There’s No Cancel Culture. Cancellation Doesn’t Have Its Own Culture’

Comedian Katt Williams hasn’t missed a step and is still straightforward in his dialogue, even when not on stage.

The entertainer recently appeared on The Joe Budden Podcast and stated that “at the end of the day. Cancellation doesn’t have its own culture.”

Last week, Williams appeared on Joe Budden’s podcast to discuss his latest movie, The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2. During the conversation, Budden brought up the subject of cancel culture, and Williams had an interesting take on the subject.

“At the end of the day, there’s no cancel culture. Cancellation doesn’t have its own culture. That was people of color, that was us policing our own culture,” the veteran comedian explained. “That was people without a voice being trashed by people just because they had a bigger name than them. And more money than them. And a better office than them, and they could sweep them up under the rug like they didn’t matter.”

“Some of these things are for the benefit of everything. Nobody likes the speed limit, but it’s necessary. Nobody likes the shoulder of the road, but it’s there for a reason.”

“If all that’s gonna happen is we have to be more sensitive in the way that we talk, isn’t that what we want anyway? I’m saying your job as a comedian is to please the most amount of people with your art. Look, if these are the confines that keep you from doing the craft God put you to, then it probably ain’t for you. That’s all.”

According to Essence, Braxton had discussed Diezel being diagnosed as autistic as a young child and then, in 2016, disclosing that he was no longer showing symptoms of it.

In an interview with OK! in 2011, she used to blame herself for his diagnosis.

“It’s been rewarding to see how he’s grown, but I remember when I first found out. I remember blaming myself; I thought it was my fault,” she said. “I wish I knew what triggered it. Still, often, as a mom, I blame myself. I didn’t take my vitamins every day … maybe it was the medications I was on before I got pregnant.

“They haven’t figured out what triggers it, but whatever it is, I don’t care, find a cure. Help my kid; help all the other kids.”

Three Mead High School Students Re-enacted George Floyd’s Death Using Black Face, Principal Resigned Shortly After

Three Colorado high schoolers re-enacted the death of George Floyd with one student depicted in Blackface and their school principal stepped down following the backlash.

According to KCNC-TV, a CBS-affiliated television station licensed to Denver, the male students are from Mead High School in Longmont. They decided to mock a Black man, a victim of police brutality and will go unpunished as the now-former principal Rachael Ayers submitted her resignation.

Ayers said their actions do not reflect the school as a whole. She quit her job on Monday after 12 years.

The image of the incident, posted on Snapchat, showed two white boys kneeling on a Black-faced white boy with a caption that reads “Bye-bye seniors.”

A petition was posted on change.org to bring awareness to the boys’ actions. Created by Ana Carrillo, the petition has secured more than 9,400 signatures of its 10,000 signature goal.

“We as a generation know that racial profiling and racism of any kind is not acceptable, and has been happening at Mead High is truly disappointing as the principle doesn’t bring it to attention as she should,” Carrillo’s petition reads.

“It’s unbelievable that there are still people acting so immature towards racism. Everyone in our school represents Mead as who we are. Having such students re-create a humiliating death is disgusting, they have dishonored themselves and the name in our school. in our school people have raced racial discrimination and it won’t be allowed. THESE KIDS NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS,” she added.

Superintendent Don Haddad told the press that he could not disclose Ayers’ official reason for leaving amidst a controversy, but he released a statement saying his school system has “no tolerance for, racism in any form and will be addressing this extremely serious matter immediately and accordingly,” according to the Daily Camera.

Because the picture was taken on school grounds, it is being investigated, but it remains uncertain if potential charges could be brought up.

For now, Ayers will be replaced by Dr. Brian Young, principal of Frederick High School for the past five years.

According to Haddad, Young’s goal will be to “discuss advancing student success and achievement with a focus on a safe and inclusive school environment and culture for every student, teacher, staff, and community member.”

Temple University Appoints Dr. Jason Wingard– The School’s First Black President In Its History

On June 8, Temple University announced Dr. Jason Wingard’s appointment as the university’s 12th president.

The incoming leader will officially begin his role on July 1, 2021. According to the announcement, President Dr. Richard M. Englert—who is Temple’s current president—is retiring after working there for 45 years.

Wingard, a Pennsylvania native, previously served as a chief learning officer of Goldman Sachs, founding and working as chairman of The Education Board Inc., and holding teaching and senior leadership positions at Stanford University, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania. After a 10-month search to find the university’s next president, Wingard garnered a unanimous vote from Temple University’s Board of Trustees to be appointed to the prestigious position.

“I am honored by the board’s selection and excited to lead one of the nation’s premier urban research universities,” Dr. Wingard said in Temple University’s announcement. “Temple will continue to provide its diverse and talented community of learners an unparalleled, accessible opportunity to leverage a best-in-class network of faculty and academic resources in support of dynamic and lifelong professional goals.

Wingard’s selection is also historical. The Philly Voice reported that Wingard is poised to become the first Black president of Temple University in the school’s 137-year history.

CBS Philly mentioned one of Wingard’s big tasks in the fall: Students returning to Temple’s campus after the pandemic caused the in-person learning environment to shift online. Wingard seems armed with pride and aptitude to serve the academic community.

“I feel proud. I recognize the significance of me being an African American president of a university that’s 136 years old in a city like Philadelphia,” Wingard said in the Philly Voice interview.

Forthcoming challenges have not curbed Wingard’s public display of excitement. Temple University’s incoming president Wingard joyfully tweeted about joining his new scholastic family.

The newly-appointed president’s inclusion represents a step in the right direction of embracing diverse, qualified candidates in higher education settings. The American Council on Education shared the racial composition of college presidents up to 2016. At that point, white males still held a majority of the positions.

Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against McDonald’s By Black Franchise Owners

Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against McDonald’s By Black Franchise Owners

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit accusing McDonald’s of racial discrimination for steering Black franchise owners to underperforming stores.

In his decision, U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber said the plaintiffs failed to show McDonald’s executives or managers treated Black store owners differently from non-Black owners. Leinenweber added the plaintiffs also failed to show when the discrimination occurred.

“The court does not mean to imply that McDonald’s operations over the years have not been tainted by the brush of racism.” Still, historical discrimination did not justify the lawsuit, Leinenweber wrote, according to CNBC.

Two brothers, James and Darrell Byrd, who own four McDonald’s restaurants in Tennessee, accused the company of placing Black franchisees in economically undesirable inner-city locations with high security and insurance costs and below-average sales. The Byrd brothers also accused the fast-food giant of denying Black owners the same opportunities for growth and financial assistance it offered white owners.

Jim Ferraro, the lawyer for the Byrd brothers, has a similar lawsuit pending in Chicago on behalf of Black former franchisees. The two lawsuits sought damages that together could reach $4 billion.

Although Leinenweber dismissed their claim for good, the judge did say the Byrd brothers could amend the complaint. Ferraro said the brothers would amend the suit, according to Reuters.

McDonald’s has supported Black causes and actions, especially in the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement last summer. Last fall, the fast-food chain named Black female Tiffany Boyd as its chief people officer. McDonald’s has also recently teamed with actress La La Anthony and NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace to provide $500,000 in scholarships and a mentor program for college students.

Like many fast-food chains, McDonald’s is currently dealing with a national worker shortage and has pledged to raise its wages to $13 per hour. However, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski confirmed it’s testing an automated, voice-recognition-based drive-thru ordering system at 10 of its Chicago locations, which they plan to expand eventually.

George Girtman Facing 15 More Sex Crimes While Serving Out Life Sentence

George Girtman Facing 15 More Sex Crimes While Serving Out Life Sentence

An Orlando, Florida man dubbed the “Malibu Rapist” is now facing charges in 15 more sex crime cases that occurred decades ago.

George Girtman was sentenced to life in prison in 2011 for an armed rape he committed back in 1990, Orlando Sentinel reported. Cops gave him the nickname since most of his attacks took place in the Malibu Groves neighborhood in West Orlando. He had been terrorizing the area in a string of rapes during the mid-80s to early 90s.

Now, new legislation has added another 15 sexual battery cold cases to his disturbing rap sheet. On Monday, police announced they had re-examined more than two dozen sexual battery and attempted sexual battery investigations and decided to close out 26 of them and file charges against Girtman in 15 of them, Click Orlando reports.

Orlando police Special Victims Unit Detective Graham Cage revealed the 15 victims range in age from 6 years to 40, with some dying before their attacker was identified. He explained why it was important to still file charges against Girtman despite his current life sentence.

“Filing these charges gives these victims the opportunity to receive justice, to have their voices heard, where they can say in their own words how these violent crimes impacted them for the rest of their lives,” Graham said. “Even though 30-plus years have passed, (Girtman) will be held accountable for his actions, and for terrorizing a part of our community.”

Gail Gardner is one of Girtman’s victims. He held a knife to her throat and threatened her son while sexually assaulting her in 1988, WESH-2 News reported. Her rape kit went untested for 30 years and a match came back to Girtman late last year, she revealed.

The results came after the Florida legislature passed the “Gail’s Law” bill earlier this year, establishing a database for rape kits. Legislators are waiting for Gov. Ron DeSantis’ to sign the bill into law.

“The actions of this man have impacted countless lives, including the survivors of his crimes, and the families, friends, detectives, prosecutors, religious leaders, elected leaders, and state legislators who have worked to support those survivors,” OPD spokesperson Autumn Jones said.

Netflix confirmed that Perry would bring his beloved character Madea out of retirement for the 12th installment, tentatively titled A Madea Homecoming. The next movie will be shot entirely at Tyler Perry Studios and is expected to be released on Netflix in 2022.

The Madea movie will be the latest work from Perry for Netflix, following last year’s release of A Fall From Grace. According to Netflix, that movie was seen by 39 million households in just its first month of streaming. He will also be writing, directing, and producing A Jazzman’s Blues for Netflix. That project will star Joshua Boone and Solea Pfeiffer. The film unravels 40 years of secrets and lies in a tale of forbidden love and family drama soundtracked by juke joint blues in the deep South.

Perry will write and direct A Madea Homecoming and executive produce the film, along with his company’s president of production and development, Michelle Sneed. Will Areu and Mark Swinton will be the producers for the project.

The onslaught of movies Perry has produced–including 11 of them being a part of the Madea franchise– has collectively grossed over $1 billion at the North American box office.

Perry’s massive mainstream success started in 2005, when he wrote, directed, and starred as Madea in Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
