Meet Chrishon Lampley, The Black Woman-Owned Wine Company Taking The Midwest By Storm

Chrishon Lampley has turned the wine industry on its head with her woman-owned business, Love Cork Screw.

Chrishon Lampley has built a name — and a home — for herself in Chicago through her groundbreaking wine company, Love Cork Screw. In doing so, she has cemented herself as a force to be reckoned with within the world of viniculture.

Lampley first came onto the scene with the creation of her art and wine bar. However, a sudden freak flood on Christmas Day left the business and young entrepreneur in shambles. “I was traumatized, scared,” said Lampley. Despite the bleak circumstances, the incident soon started her on a different path, one that she had been contemplating for a long time.

“I didn’t understand the “why” at the time, but I knew that my heart was still beating, so I still had a purpose,” she said. “I also knew that I had the gift of people. People loved me, they loved talking to me, and I had a love for wine. So that’s all I knew at the time. I did not know that I was going to create a national brand of Love Cork Screw. But I knew I had something going, and that gave me the strength to open my mind up to what else was out there.” So, in 2013, Love Cork Screw was founded. One decade later, with over 2 million bottles sold nationwide, this ode to Chicago has turned the wine industry upside down.

Transforming her grief into success was not a simple feat, but it was made slightly easier courtesy of a network of companions Lampley had built since moving to Chicago. “It was the fact that I knew people because of the art gallery,” she said. “Love Cork Screw was really off of the people I met living in the city when I owned the bar. Again, I didn’t grow up in Chicago, and Chicago is very much like a ‘where did you go to high school’ city, and I didn’t. I grew up in the burbs!”

Still, she understood that getting off the ground as an entrepreneur doesn’t begin with having an idea but rather a community, which she credits for Love Cork Screw’s achievements. “I was always someone who was concerned and caring, so when it came to Love Cork Screw coming about, it was almost like, ‘Say less!’ That’s pretty much what everyone did when Love Cork Screw came. They trusted me, they trusted the brand was going to be great because my art gallery was great,” she said.

The entrepreneur’s charisma has opened the doors for the sommelier in ways like never before. She recently provided some of Love Cork Screw’s most popular wine varieties for this year’s BLACK ENTERPRISE Sisters Inc. Summit, where Black women entrepreneurs assembled to discuss the growing pains of being self-made businesswomen and the importance of female-driven initiatives. “I was very happy to send some wine for that event. It was very exciting to be asked to do that. It’s so great to have Love Cork Screw in rooms like that, especially in great events that mean so much,” Lampley said. For the summit, she shared their ‘We Go High’ rosé, inspired by former first lady Michelle Obama’s iconic quote, along with their ‘Touch the Sky’ Niagara, which gave attendees a unique taste of Chicago.

A large part of Love Cork Screw’s mission has been promoting inclusivity and sustainability, two values that have become an increasingly requisite aspect of winemaking. “Inclusivity does not just mean being a brown person owning a brand. There are so many moving parts in this industry, from law to compliance to being a sommelier. There are so many moving parts in this that are not utilized because we have to use these three-tier systems, and they’re not Black-owned, right? So there are some but a very small amount that can be distributed to large stores like the Walmarts and Targets of the world. So there’s more that needs to be done,” said Lampley.

Though the wine industry has gradually transitioned to a more sustainable model due to increased climate change, for Love Corkscrew, it was already an integral component of its business structure. “Sustainability is kind of complicated in this industry,” Lampley stated. “A lot of times people feel that wine has this old school presence of always having a cork and certain things that come with the wine industry, but the one great thing about this industry is it’s changing now. It’s not so old school, so things matter, meaning that I was one of the first people to put nutritional value on the back of my wine bottles because I want you to know what you are putting in your body. We are very transparent about everything that happens, and we always answer the questions that customers ask.”

As she grows accustomed to life as an accomplished businesswoman, Lampley has come to one realization – no amount of experience ensures a problem-free career, especially as a Black woman in a white-dominated industry. “I still have the same challenges. Nothing different there,” she revealed. “That’s being less than 1% of the industry, and I would say when I started, it was like .02% of the industry as an African American woman negotiant, especially in the midwest.”

Still, despite such obstacles, Lampley has never once faltered in her mission of promoting her quest for change in the winemaking world. “I look to break every glass ceiling until there’s no more to be broken and to help people break through this industry that looks like me.”

Lizzo’s Former Wardrobe Designer Accuses Singer Of Victim Shaming

Lizzo's latest attempt to get one of her wrongful termination lawsuits thrown out has her being accused of victim shaming.

Lizzo’s latest attempt to get one of her wrongful termination lawsuits thrown out has the Grammy-winning singer being accused of victim shaming.

The “Juice” singer’s legal team filed docs in LA Superior Court on Dec. 15 calling out claims made by her short-lived tour wardrobe manager, Asha Daniels, Deadline reported. Daniels filed her illegal retaliatory termination, racial and sexual harassment lawsuit in California in September. However, according to Lizzo’s recent filing, Daniels has no right to utilize California laws while working for a Delaware corporation in Europe.

Lizzo’s demurrer filed by celebrity lawyer Marty Singer calls out Daniels, “Plaintiff, a New York resident” for her “meritless and salacious action after less than three weeks of employment by BGBT.” The filing also put “less than three weeks” in bold italics.

“During her brief employment by BGBT, Plaintiff refused to comply with instructions from her supervisors and tour management, failed to perform the work that she was assigned and, eventually, just played hooky and refused to show up for work,” the motion states.

Daniels worked on Lizzo’s “The Special Tour” from February 14, 2023, to March 6, 2023. She was fired one day after allegedly skipping out on the tour’s March 5 gig in Paris, France.

“Unsurprisingly, she was terminated after abandoning her post on the day of a concert in Paris, France,” the filing states.

However, Daniels is doubling down on her initial claims made in her September 21 lawsuit citing a “toxic work environment” and a “culture of racism and bullying on Lizzo’s tour.”

“This motion was expected and is yet another Hail Mary by Lizzo’s team to try to shift blame to the victims, as she has done to the three other plaintiffs who have sued her for similar allegations of harassment, disability discrimination and retaliatory termination,” Daniels lawyer Ron Zambrano said in a statement.

“Lizzo and her lawyers can continue trying to rationalize her illegal and wretched conduct, but we remain committed to seeking justice for our clients and look forward to our day in court where Lizzo can explain her behavior in a public forum.”

Daniels’ lawsuit came seven weeks after Lizzo was sued by three former dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez, who accuse the singer of harassment, assault, and discrimination. Six months before the trio made their legal filing, Lizzo reached a $100,000 settlement with 14 dancers who performed with the singer but didn’t authorize the use of their image in the 2022 documentary Love, Lizzo.

Lizzo also tried to have the lawsuits by her former dancers thrown out, but the judge overseeing the motion has yet to issue a ruling.

Salamander’s Sheila Johnson, Chef Kwame Onwuachi, And The Evolution Of D.C.’s Wine Country

Salamander Resort & Spa wants to redefine Washington D.C.'s culinary scene with an upcoming groundbreaking collaboration.

Salamander Resort & Spa, guided by owner Sheila Johnson, aims to redefine Washington, D.C.’s culinary scene with an upcoming groundbreaking collaboration. Set for spring 2024, the partnership between Salamander, acclaimed chef Kwame Onwuachi, and Visit Loudoun DC’s Wine Country will mark a pivotal moment in the region’s gastronomy.

Sheila Johnson, co-founder of BET, ventured into the hospitality industry by launching a Virginia-based hotel. Over a decade, her collection has expanded significantly. The newest addition, Salamander Washington, D.C., has unveiled insights into the evolving wine culture, culinary fusion, and a new approach to hospitality within the region.

“We’re excited to offer our guests a distinctive atmosphere defined by inclusion, kindness, and warmth,” shared Janelle Burt, marketing manager at Salamander D.C.

An event featuring a captivating lunch showcasing the upcoming culinary fusion at Salamander’s new location and an intimate wine-tasting led by Bob Rupy, a respected winery owner and winegrower from Loudoun, took center stage.

“At October One Vineyard, we’ve built an experience-based operation,” explains Rupy. Committed to engaging with the community, October One provides tasting opportunities in downtown Leesburg, inviting people to taste, explore, and learn about Virginia’s wine country history.

For African Americans keen on exploring wine culture, the Virginia Wine Trail offers an inviting avenue for cultural discovery.

“I’m thrilled that Loudoun—DC’s Wine Country®—is leading in creating unique and meaningful experiences,” says Beth Erickson, President and CEO of Visit Loudoun.

Representation and Engagement:

Visit Loudoun’s marketing centers on authentic storytelling—presenting the people of Loudoun and those behind their businesses through content and videos.

“We recognize today’s diverse consumer base,” Beth Erickson, president and CEO of Visit Loudoun, told BLACK ENTERPRISE. “We extend an inclusive invitation, but how we deliver on that promise matters. Observing diversity reflected in our tasting rooms confirms our messaging is resonating.”

The Virginia Wine Trail stands out for its efforts in representation and engagement, acknowledging and celebrating the diversity of wine consumers. It actively engages with African American communities, providing platforms for appreciation, education, and participation in the winemaking process. This intentional outreach aims to foster a more inclusive and diverse wine culture where individuals from all backgrounds feel valued and embraced.

Rich History and Inclusivity of Virginia’s Wine Trail:

The Virginia Wine Trail boasts a rich historical significance and inclusive approach, resonating deeply with African American wine enthusiasts. Historically, African Americans played a pivotal role in the country’s viticulture, dating back to their involvement as vineyard laborers for Thomas Jefferson.

Within Visit Loudoun’s efforts to create a welcoming environment, a key pillar has been industry training to ensure comfort for individuals from all backgrounds. There’s a focused training approach across the industry spectrum.

“A simple wine tasting might entail pouring wine in a glass while mentioning the varietal,” explains Erickson.

“That might meet some guests’ expectations, but that’s not our approach here in Loudoun. We collaborate closely with the community and Black business leaders to tailor industry training, addressing potential blind spots.”

As the countdown to spring 2024 begins, all eyes are on Salamander and chef Kwame Onwuachi — a partnership set to carve a new culinary legacy in the heart of the nation’s capital. The union of Johnson’s visionary leadership, Loudoun’s wine heritage, and Onwuachi’s culinary prowess promise an unparalleled experience, captivating and delighting Washington D.C.’s epicurean enthusiasts.

Mississippi Judge Rules Terry Pitchford Must Be Given New Trial

In the American Media Project's analysis of Evans’ 225 trials, they discovered that Black jurors were excluded at four times the rate of white jurors.

U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills ruled on Dec. 12 that the State of Mississippi has to retry Terry Pitchford on capital murder charges because the judge who initially tried the case did not give Pitchford’s lawyer a chance to establish that the dismissal of Black jurors was discriminatory. As CBS News reports, Mills made the ruling in part because of the trial history of former District Attorney Doug Evans. Evans has a history of discrimination against Black jurors, according to Mills’ ruling. Furthermore, Mills ordered the retrial in the next six months, or Pitchford would be a free man.

Pitchford is currently incarcerated at the Parchman Mississippi State Penitentiary, where he remains on death row following his conviction for the 2004 murder of Ruben Britt, a Mississippi store owner. Pitchford and a friend, Eric Bullins, went to Britt’s store outside Grenada to rob it. Bullins is suspected of shooting the store owner three times, which resulted in a mortal wound. According to court documents, Pitchford maintained that he never even shot in the direction of Britt; instead, he shot at the floor.

Later, police would find Britt’s gun at the residence of the then 18-year-old Pitchford, which led to his confession that he had tried to rob the store. However, Mills ruled that the jury selection in his 2006 trial was fundamentally flawed because Pitchford’s attorney was not allowed to challenge the state’s dismissal of Black prospective jurors. To do this, a lawyer has to be able to raise points that show a jury pool was affected by discriminatory strikes.

In Pitchford’s case, the jury selection started with a somewhat mixed group of 61 white citizens and 35 Black citizens, which was whittled down to 36 white and five Black jurors due at least in part to the objection of many Black jurors to Pitchford getting the death penalty. Following this, state prosecutors got rid of four additional Black jurors, which left a nearly all-white jury.

It is legal to strike Black jurors for reasons that do not pertain to race, and the prosecutors did explain their reasons for excusing them at the trial. Still, in Mills’ review of the case, he reasoned that the defense was not given adequate time to contest against the jury selections. Mills wrote in his ruling, “This court cannot ignore the notion that Pitchford was seemingly given no chance to rebut the state’s explanations and prove purposeful discrimination.”

Mills said in his ruling that he was influenced by another case involving Evans where a similar occurrence occurred. Curtis Flowers was tried by Evans six times over the shooting deaths of four people. The United States Supreme Court eventually reviewed the case. It ruled that Evans had denied Black jurors the opportunity to sit on the final jury and overturned Flowers’ death penalty conviction.

Conservative Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh described Evans’ efforts as a “relentless, determined effort to rid the jury of Black individuals.” In addition to this, in season two of its In The Dark podcast, the American Media Project covered the Flowers trial and discussed Evans’ history of creating all-white or nearly all-white juries in his trials. In their analysis of Evans’ 225 trials, they discovered that Black jurors were excluded at four times the rate of white jurors.

“This analysis does not prove the jurors were struck because they were Black. Why not? Because of too many other factors, some are unknown. It simply shows that Black potential jurors in the Fifth Circuit Court District were struck at a rate nearly 4½ times that of white potential jurors.”

They also noted that even though Black jurors’ odds were six times worse than that of white jurors, they could not say with complete certainty that the outcomes were solely race-based because they would have to interview the prosecutors in all those cases. “This analysis — where reporters could see race and responses in 89 trials — showed that a Black juror’s odds of being struck were 6½ times greater than the odds of an otherwise similar white juror’s despite answering questions during jury selection the same way.”

The APM continued, “Nonetheless, the analysis still does not prove jurors were struck because of race. That’s because of other factors we couldn’t possibly know without interviewing the prosecutors in Doug Evans’ office in central Mississippi. They declined interview requests.”

Mills did not believe the Flowers case on its own proved anything. He thought that the history of Evans should have been taken into context when considering Pitchford’s appeal, saying, “The court merely believes that it should have been included in a ‘totality of the circumstances’ analysis of the issue.”

Family Erroneously Purchases $10K in Disney+ Gift Cards Thinking They Were For Theme Parks

Disney was able to "turn the $10,000 of Disney streaming gift cards into $10,000 of Disney Parks gift cards"

Branding may be great for the company when you are a conglomerate and have various brands and properties under your umbrella.

Still, it could also lead to misunderstandings.

According to People, two parents purchased $10,000 worth of what they thought were Disney gift cards for the company’s famed theme park  so their family could enjoy a nice holiday vacation around Christmas. But due to the very successful branding tools of the Mickey Mouse company, they erroneously bought $10,000 worth of Disney+ gift cards, for Disney’s streaming services.

Yikes!

TikTok user Andie Coston (@aofthecoast) recorded a message with the mistake her parents made and inquired to see if any of the platform’s users could help rectify the situation so they could get that much-needed getaway.

She wrote that her family had planned a trip three years ago util the coronavirus pandemic, the trip had been postponed. Now, they were ready to embark on the trip.

“We finally planned it for this Christmas. All 16 of my family members were going. To save some money, my parents bought 10k of Disney gift cards to purchase our tickets and restaurant reservations. I went home this weekend, and they were having problems loading the gift cards correctly and purchasing the tickets.”

Coston then panned the camera toward the $10,000 worth of gift cards sporting the Disney+ logo, the streaming service, not the the theme park.

“We leave in 6 days, and the parks are selling out of tickets because it’s Christmas. My mom is distraught, Dad frustrated, and the kids worried we won’t get into Disney.”

@aofthecoast Do I have a story for you! PLEASE HELP! Note that the purchaser is not familiar with Disney Plus and did not know the difference! Honest mistake. It is not about the funding of the trip. It is about finding someone who can help us transfer the money into the correct gift card so we can make it to Disney! @Disney Parks @Disney+ @Disney #ohno #fail #disney #disneyworld #disneyplus #disneyfail #help ♬ Oh No – Kreepa

But the power of social media prevailed for the worried family!

Less than 24 hours after the original post was placed on the platform, Disney came to the rescue, contacted the family and was able to “turn the $10,000 of Disney streaming gift cards into $10,000 of Disney Parks gift cards.”

Coston was very grateful and spoke to People, relieved that they wouldn’t have to subject themselves to trying to watch all those hours of Disney+ for the rest of their lives.

“I am so glad we were able to get it resolved, especially for my parent’s sake. It was also good to hear that my parents are not the only ones who have experienced this. I received many messages and comments from people telling me that they or someone they know have had similar experiences. I hope that this story makes more people aware of the card difference so no one else experiences this.”

Jonathan Majors’ Ex Speaks On Domestic Violence After His Guilty Verdict

Jonathan Majors' ex-girlfriend is breaking her silence in the wake of his guilty verdict and asking for donations for domestic violence organizations.

Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, is breaking her silence in the wake of his guilty verdict and asking for donations for the domestic violence organization that represented her in the high-profile assault trial.

Jabbari took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, Dec. 19, to share a message of support to three domestic violence support organizations, one being the one that aided in her legal win against Majors on Monday, People reports.

“For my birthday, if you want.. a donation to @sffny, a charity that helped me so much this year, would be the best gift you could give,” Jabbari wrote, tagging Sanctuary for Families New York. “Thank you so much @sffny, and everyone else…For everything.”

The dancer and movement coach wrote the message above a PSA against domestic violence.

“New Yorkers: Get help today. Leave abuse behind.”

Jabbari’s statement came one day after Sanctuary for Families New York released a statement on Instagram in response to Majors’ guilty verdict.

“Sanctuary for Families is proud to have represented Ms. Jabbari throughout this process and will continue to support her on her journey toward justice and healing,” the organization stated.

They followed up with a statement from Ross Kramer, director of Sanctuary’s Incarcerated Gender Violence Survivors Initiative, where he said how “gratified” they are by Majors’ guilty verdict.

“We are gratified to see justice served by today’s guilty verdict. Ms. Jabbari testified publicly and truthfully, even though reliving these traumatic events on the witness stand was obviously painful,” he said. “We are grateful to the jurors and the Judge for their attention and patience, and to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for their hard work and support.”

The statement continued. “Ms. Jabbari’s resolve to see this case through to the end demonstrates her tremendous strength and resilience. Unfortunately, for every survivor like Ms. Jabbari who comes forward to hold their abuser accountable, there are many others who believe that they cannot. We hope that her actions will inspire other survivors to speak their truth and seek justice.”

On Monday, Majors was found guilty of two charges, including misdemeanor assault in the third degree, recklessly causing physical injury, and harassment in the second degree. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 6.

Shortly after receiving the guilty verdict, the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” star was dropped by Marvel ahead of plans for him to star in two Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including a fifth Avengers movie. His lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, released a statement after the verdict expressing his hope to clear his name one day.

“Mr. Majors is grateful to God, his family, his friends, and his fans for their love and support during these harrowing eight months,” Chaudhry said. “Mr. Majors still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”

Former G League Player Admits To Murder Of Marayna Rodgers

A former player for the Stockton Kings was arraigned in court on Tuesday in connection with the death of Marayna Rodgers.

CBS News Sacramento reports Chance Comanche, a former player for the Stockton Kings, was arraigned in court on Tuesday, facing serious charges of kidnapping and murder in connection with the death of 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers in Nevada. Details emerging from a Las Vegas Police Department arrest report obtained by CBS News outline a plot orchestrated over several months between Comanche, 27, and his alleged accomplice and girlfriend, 19-year-old Sakari Harnden.

According to the report, Comanche confessed on Dec. 15 to the murder of Rodgers, revealing that he and Harndon strangled her inside Harndon’s vehicle. Text messages presented in the report expose a sinister plan to lure Rodgers away from her friends, ending in her tragic demise.

The report discloses that Comanche allegedly used an HDMI cord to carry out the gruesome act after falsely inviting Rodgers under the pretext of a double prostitution meet-up. The investigation suggests that the murder occurred shortly after the Stockton Kings played the G League Ignite in Las Vegas on Dec. 5. Subsequent to Comanche’s confession, detectives were able to locate Rodgers’ remains in a Las Vegas suburb.

Arrested at the Stockton Kings’ practice facility on Dec. 15, Comanche appeared in a Sacramento County courtroom on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Having waived his extradition rights, he is poised to be transported from Sacramento to Clark County, Nevada, where the legal proceedings will unfold. Las Vegas police apprehended Harnden on Dec. 13.

Rodgers, a medical assistant from Washington State, vanished while visiting Las Vegas with friends, and her disappearance was reported on Dec. 7. The revelations from the arrest report shed light on the disturbing details of the alleged plot and the tragic outcome that unfolded.

Comanche’s attorney, seen leaving the courtroom with the former G League player’s mother and another family member, refrained from responding to questions from the press outside the courthouse on Tuesday. The gravity of the situation is underscored by the two individuals allegedly plotting to kidnap and kill Rodgers over two distinct issues.

Texas Immigration Law Roundly Criticized By Well, Everyone

The law allows officers to arrest whomever they suspect doesn't belong in the state, regardless of their actual immigration status.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed a trio of bills on Dec. 18 that put more state resources into his never-ending war on immigration at the border of Texas and Mexico. According to the Texas Tribune, Senate Bill 3 sets aside $1.54 billion to continue constructing barriers along the southern border as well as allowing Texas to spend $40 million to patrol a single housing development near Houston, Colony Ridge, which far-right Republicans claim is an area teeming with undocumented immigrants.

Senate Bill 4 is a bill that will likely lead to a challenge from the federal government as it essentially makes entering the country illegally a crime in Texas. There is also a second Senate Bill 4, which increases the penalty for smuggling immigrants from two years to ten years. According to ABC News, the most recent Senate Bill 4 will go into effect in March 2024, but lawsuits against the bills could delay that.

Abbott characterized the bills as an attempt to protect Texans from the Mexican cartels, saying that the federal government and President Joe Biden have left Texas unprotected.

“Biden’s deliberate inaction has left Texas to fend for itself,” he said.

However, several immigrant rights organizations, Democrats, and former immigration judges say that the bill is a violation of the U.S. Constitution because the federal government is supposed to enforce immigration law, not the state government.

According to Politico, Senate Bill 4 represents a very clear danger to residents in Texas, not just immigrants, as it gives the police broad interpretative power. The law allows officers to arrest whomever they suspect doesn’t belong in the state, regardless of their actual immigration status.

“The new law signed by Abbott allows any Texas law enforcement officer to arrest people who are suspected of entering the country illegally. Once in custody, they could either agree to a Texas judge’s order to leave the U.S. or be prosecuted on misdemeanor charges of illegal entry. Migrants who don’t comply could face arrest again under more serious felony charges.”

U.S. Rep Joaquin Castro has been vocal about his opposition to Abbott’s push against immigrants, both on Twitter/X and through more official channels. The congressman sent a letter to the Department of Justice, signed by other members of Congress, asking for the organization to sue the State of Texas so the law doesn’t take effect.

“We urge you to assert your authority over federal immigration and foreign policy and pursue legal action, as appropriate, to stop this unconstitutional and dangerous legislation from going into effect.”

Thirty former immigration judges released a statement to the Tribune, declaring that the bill is unconstitutional.

“The proposed Texas legislation, which would allow a state court magistrate judge to issue a removal order, is not lawful. Immigration is plainly a federal function,” the statement says. “State legislators cannot enact immigration laws for the same reasons that the United States Congress cannot enact Texas state legislation. State magistrate judges cannot conduct immigration proceedings for the same reason that federal Immigration Judges cannot adjudicate Texas state criminal cases.”

NPR talked to Haim Vasquez, a Dallas-area lawyer, who told them that he is concerned about the broad powers that the law gives to the state, reducing the purview of an immigrant’s due process, saying, “This law is written horribly. It’s terrible,” Vasquez said. “The law is not taking into consideration the current process or future process that an undocumented migrant could have in immigration court or through affirmative work, whether it’s marriage, possible asylum, work authorization under parole, or a family petition either by a sibling or a child or a spouse.”

Mexico, according to NPR, has also already pushed back against the law. Ahead of the law’s signing, in November, Mexico issued a statement condemning the proposed treatment of Mexican citizens by the state of Texas. “The Government of Mexico categorically rejects any measure that allows state or local authorities to detain and return Mexican or foreign nationals to Mexican territory,” the foreign ministry said. “The Government of Mexico will continue its efforts with the U.S. government to address the issue of migration, and reiterates its commitment to protect the rights of all Mexicans abroad.”
