Chaos Erupts During a Glorilla Concert Leaving Two Dead and Several Injured

A concert turned into chaos for fans of GloRilla during a concert in upstate New York.

CBS News reported two people were killed after a stampede erupted while fans rushed to the exits in Rochester. Officers were responding to reports of gunfire at the Main Street Armory shortly after the Memphis rapper’s concert ended close to 11 p.m. As concertgoers rushed to the doors, 33-year-old Rhondesia Belton and an unidentified 35-year-old woman were  trampled.

Both women died from their injuries.

Medical officials said “the injuries appear to be as a result of a large crowd pushing towards the exits following accounts of individuals hearing what they believed to be gunshots.” However, Rochester Police Chief, David M. Smith, said there was no evidence of gunshots. What began last night as a night of live music and fun for the performer GloRilla ended in tragedy with one person dead and two more fighting for their lives,” the chief said, according to The Huffington Post. “We do not have any evidence of gunshots being fired or of anyone being shot or stabbed at the scene.”

Several others sustained injuries during the incident. A witness tweeted he saw a firefighter performing CPR on a victim on the scene.

The Grammy-nominated performer tweeted her shock at the incident. “I’’m just now hearing about what happened wtf,” the F.N.F rapper, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, tweeted. “Praying everybody is ok.”

Rochester mayor, Malik Evans, called the fatal incident “totally unacceptable” and promised to work with city officials for a thorough investigation. “We are going to hold people accountable for what happened last night, period,” Evans told CBS. “I intend to get to the bottom of this.”

The venue was expected to host a performance from rapper, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, however, the show has been canceled.

Power Restored to Parts of Kenya After Nationwide Blackout

Power Restored to Parts of Kenya After Nationwide Blackout

Power was restored to parts of Kenya after a nationwide blackout lasting several hours which was thought to have been caused by a fault on a transmission line, electricity distributor Kenya Power (KPLC.NR) said on Saturday.

“Initial reports indicate that the outage was caused by a fault that occurred on the Suswa-Loyangalani high-voltage power transmission line,” Kenya Power said in a statement.

The power supply was restored to parts of Eldoret, Kisumu and Nakuru, the distributor said. Electricity had also returned to at least one part of the capital Nairobi, according to a Reuters journalist.

Kenya Power is the country’s sole electricity distributor and the bulk of its power comes from Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) (KEGN.NR), which is the main producer.

19 KEYS Discusses the Importance of AI: ‘If We Don’t Own It, It Owns Us’

19 KEYS Discusses the Importance of AI: ‘If We Don’t Own It, It Owns Us’

The latest technology that seems to be on people’s minds is artificial intelligence. With the sudden rise of popular social media apps utilizing AI tools, it’s important that we get on board before it takes off. The Wrap reported that the November launch of the ChatGPT app generated 672 million visits in January. That number placed the app within the Top 50 global websites. With the recent announcement by Google that they will be releasing their own ChatGPT alternative, the competition is escalating.

With information like this, it’s apparent that we need to focus on the latest technology, and 19 KEYS, a high-level thought leader who has a solid following based on his teachings and knowledge, knows that AI is the next big thing.

19 KEYS is the host of the hit podcast High Level Conversations, which is on the Earn Your Leisure Network. He is also the co-founder of The Block World Order (BWO), Goldewater, and Crownz Society. The knowledge he bestows upon his listeners makes him valued for all that he does for creating wealth and knowledge for those who want to create their own businesses. He is also determined to educate the younger generation in terms of creating wealth.

With a growing audience that continues to tune in for what he has to say, he has recently obtained more than 22 million views, half a billion impressions, and 12 million watch hours.

As we touched on myriad topics, one of the most important ones focused on artificial intelligence, with a look toward what’s next. Although it’s already here, we as Black people, who typically latch on to new things at the onset, must be prepared to not only know the importance of AI, but to start learning all aspects about it as the rest of the world plays catch up.

19 KEYS has been speaking about the significance of this latest technology as he wants people to be ahead of the curve. The shift is necessary as this is now “the next big thing.”

“The reason I’ve been talking about AI for part of the last five years, actively, on my own platform on YouTube and when I first started talking about it, is because I look at the focus of all the information. I study science. I study technology a lot, and I love technology. I love innovation. I love to see human progress.”

But KEYS says Black people are very far behind and, unfortunately, are not the ones at the forefront of building the technology. As we continue to complain about the lack of certain things, like jobs, political power, and ownership, there are advancements, like technology, that those who are in front of it will get to utilize to remain on top. The opportunity to become a part of artificial intelligence is right in front of us.

“And are we still operating in the old spirit of complaining when there is a new technology that is a solution?”

The changes are always in front of us as each generation has seen various shifts when it comes to technology. For example, there was a time when you had to actually go outside to obtain information. You had to go to the library. Now, there is social media, and the internet, where leaving your residence isn’t necessary anymore to get that same information.

“Specifically, because technology changes generations, it changes the world.”

KEYS also brings up the advancement of mobile phones. They are literally computers in our hands, where you can gather information in the palm of your hand. “We call them cell phones, but the least amount of things we do on them now is talk.”

Now we have artificial intelligence to do the things we don’t even have to really think about anymore.

“Now you throw in AI at an age where people are over-consuming information, and it’s causing mental exhaustion right? Because you know there’s so much information, but people don’t know how to think. So it’s too many choices, so people are either making no choice or bad choices these days, right? And now we’re at this point where the AI is saying that I’m going to take the thinking out of it now, right?

“Instead of Googling something where you have to do research when you go into a Chat GPT or you go into artificial intelligence program, you can say ‘Hey, can you write me a book about becoming a better person?’ and the AI spits out a book. You can say, ‘Hey, can you write it in the language of, you know, Einstein and Malcolm X?’ and the AI tries to duplicate that voice.

“Now you take that book and you go try to sell it and you going to mark that off as your own brilliance, it required no thinking.”

But, with the way artificial intelligence is, everyone will have access to the same tools built within.  But, with that same level of access, will some people have the ability to know how to use it? To tell them what to do?

“People are going to use it in a way to increase their effectiveness in business and life and research and everything. But then there is another percentage that is going to decrease their ability to think and research because they won’t have to anymore. So now they don’t even develop that process of what it’s like to research information.”

The trajectory of A.I. has grown to a point that it crosses multiple fields and has already been incorporated in ways that seemingly everyone and everything is turning to AI. You even have writers utilizing the technology to “write” for them (I can assure you that AI was not used for this article) and it may blur the technique of what’s original and what’s computer-generated. But, as KEYS has mentioned, AI is here to stay and we must get on board to take advantage.

There is an important statement KEYS says as it relates to AI, “I realize that if we don’t own it, it owns us.”

Reportedly, the couple ranks among the top athletes in their respective sports.

Steven Rogers Wants to Restore Historically Black-Owned Land Back to Blacks

Steven Rogers Wants to Restore Historically Black-Owned Land Back to Blacks

In 1929, several Black families were removed from their land by white developers in Evanston, IL. This only follows a disturbing history of displacement of Black families

Steven Rogers, a resident of Evanston, recently saw that the same land once owned by Black families was up for sale. So Rogers decided to purchase the land and place it back into the hands of Blacks.

According to The Daily Northwestern, Rogers will create a memorial honoring the Black families who lost their land in 1929. Rogers plans to use the land for the benefit of the Black community, by hosting HBCU choirs and other activities.

“I know the history of Blacks in America. But when something comes close to you like that, it becomes personalized,” Rogers said to The Daily Northwestern. “It made it real.”

He added, “I was able to use all of my Harvard Business School experience, all of my corporate experience, all of my entrepreneurship experience, everything that I had been endowed with to help these people fight a Fortune 500 company. And we won.”

Rogers created the Englewood Railway Coalition to oppose the Norfolk Southern Corporation, which sought to buy homes in Englewood, which would have displaced Black homeowners. The Daily Northwestern also reported that Rogers helped the city receive financial compensation.

Patti Beals, who is a  member of the Englewood Railway Coalition, told the The Daily Northwestern that Rogers is a “voice of reason.”

“Because of the positive change that he helped provide, I know that in the future I have a place now for my children to come and stay,” Beals said.

Rogers is also a published author. His book, Successful Black Entrepreneurs, sheds light on Black achievement through case studies, and examines the challenges of Black entrepreneurship.

“It’s been over 246 years of slavery, 60 years of Black Codes, 40 years of redlining,” Rogers said. “That’s 346 years, and 346 years later we’re still fighting for equality in terms of being recognized as citizens of the United States,” he said. “I’m saddened about the absence of greater optimism.”

Lewis Hamilton Cleared to Wear Nose Rings During Races

Lewis Hamilton has been cleared to wear his jewelry during an upcoming race in Bahrain.

According to TMZ, Hamilton was cleared by the FIA because the process of taking the studs in and out of his nose might cause “disfigurement.”

“The Stewards consulted the FIA Medical Delegate, who viewed the medical report, examined the driver, and concurred with the opinion therein,” the decision read.

“We have determined to take no further action as there are concerns about disfigurement with frequent attempts at removal of the device,” the decision read.

Last year, FIA made it known that it wanted jewelry removed for safety reasons. Hamilton pushed back by only removing one of his nose rings. However, the issue emerged after Hamilton produced a medical note that said he had suffered an infection.

Hamilton, a British race-car driver, holds the F1 record for victories. He is tied with Michal Schumacher for the most drivers’ championships, at 7. In 2008, Hamilton was the first Black driver to win the F1 world drivers’ championship.

Hamilton began his racing career at just eight years old. At 10, he won the British Kart Championship. Then, at 13, Hamilton signed to the McLaren and Mercedes-Benz Young Driver Support Programme. In 1998, Hamilton made history when he became the youngest-ever driver to be ranked No. 1 in the sport.

Also, Hamilton irked the FIA when he wore a shirt that called for the arrest of the police officers who murdered Breonna Taylor. Shortly afterward, the FIA said drivers were only allowed to wear race suits that were closed up to the neck when they stood on the podium.

Lawyers Push To Bring Man Home Who They Say Was Wrongly Deported To Haiti

Lawyers Push To Bring Man Home Who They Say Was Wrongly Deported To Haiti

Two years ago, Paul Pierrilus was deported to Haiti from his home in the U.S. Pierrilus was expelled because of a two-decades-old drug conviction as part of a sweep to remove Black immigrants by the Biden administration. Today, Pierrilus is lingering in a country that he is unfamiliar with.

According to The Associated Press, Pierrilus’ lawyers are fighting to return him home. However, Pierrilus’ case remains lingering as the Biden administration pushes forward deportations to Haiti.

“You have to be mentally strong to deal with this type of stuff,” Pierrilus said. “A country where people get kidnapped every day. A country where people are killed. You have to be strong,” Pierrilus said to AP News

According to AP News, Pierrilus’ parents are Haitian. Upon arriving in the U.S. from St. Martin, where Pierrilus was born, his parents didn’t apply for citizenship. Pierrilus has lived in New York City since he was five years old and doesn’t speak Haitian Creole.

When he was deported, after delaying deportation for 13 years, Pierrilus worked as a financial consultant. However, it’s been difficult for Pierrilus to find employment in Haiti. So, he stays inside the house and reads self-help, business, and marketing books. He says he often hears gunshots outside of his home, AP News reports

AP News also reports that Pierrilus’s case is what many Haitian migrants face. More than 20,000 Haitians have been deported from the U.S. in the past year as thousands more continue to flee Haiti in risky boat crossings that sometimes end in mass drownings, according to AP.

In a statement to AP News, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said, “each country has an obligation under international law to accept the return of its nationals who are not eligible to remain in the U.S. or any other country. “

In 2005, the Board of Immigration Appeals denied an appeal by Pierrilus’ and his attorneys said, “it is not necessary for the respondent to be a citizen of Haiti for that country to be named as the country of removal,” AP News reports.

A Change.org petition has been created for Pierrilus.

Healthy Eating: Trick Daddy Gets Candid With Nene Leakes About His Bedroom Pleasures

Trick Daddy let fans get to know him more than most would like.

During a recent episode of his show, I Got My Pots, the rapper opened up to his guest, Nene Leakes, about what he likes in the bedroom. Trick Daddy admitted to having his groceries checked out before eating them. According to Hollywood Unlocked, things got hot in the kitchen as the 48-year-old told Leakes how he treats a woman, alluding to spoiling his love interests in more ways than one. “I like to buy them stuff or eat their stuff,” he confessed. “I’m a Libra. I’m a pleaser. I like to make sure that they’re very much satisfied.”

Leakes needed more detail in classic Nene fashion, so the Love & Hip-Hop Miami star did just that. “I’m down with Eat A  B****Gang.’ I’m sure you’ve heard about that,” Trick Daddy explained. He then explained that he’s “not only the head club president but also a member.”

With Leakes shocked at his openness, the Miami-based rapper described how he “prepares” for a moment of passion. “I take sit-down baths. That’s why I don’t say bath. I say bathes,” he explained. “I make sure I’m very clean. And I make sure I’m right down there. I shave all these gray hairs off. You know.”

Twitter followers chimed in on the news, sharing their feelings about Trick Daddy’s candidness. One user was questioning why he would share that type of information.

Another user suggested the annulment may have you looking at people differently.

This isn’t the first time Trick Daddy let fans in on his sexual preferences. According to another source, Mr. “I’m A Thug” told the world he was into groceries in 2021.
