Former NBA Player Michael Beasley Cries Discussing How his Mother and Everyone Around Stole From Him
Former NBA basketball player Michael Beasley broke down in tears during an interview after discussing dealing with trust issues after people close to him stole money from him, even his mother. He said that “Everybody except for my kids stole from me.”
On The Pivot, a podcast featuring former NFL players Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor, Beasley talks about how the misfortunes in his life have affected his mental health. The conversation was meant to discuss his playing days in the NBA, and it turned into Beasley confessing that he doesn’t have it all together mentally. Explaining to the hosts that he was living a good life during his basketball playing days, but now that they’re done, it’s not a great situation to be in.
The former NBA player, who played for seven different teams, including the New York Knicks, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Miami Heat, talks about how everyone in his life has stolen from him and that he is done trying and ready to give up on himself.
“I don’t know no one that ain’t stole from me,” Beasley said. “Everybody except for my kids stole from me.”He recently talked about not speaking to childhood friend and fellow basketball player Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant. They played basketball together growing up in Prince George’s County, Maryland. They were also teammates in high school. Durant is still riding high about to fight for another NBA championship while Beasley tries to get his life back together. He states he has been asking for help, and people have called him crazy. He wants to do what it will take to get the necessary help he needs. He mentions former NBA player Delonte West who was seen panhandling and getting into trouble in the street. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban stepped in and placed him in rehab so he could get his life together.“Do I have to be in Delonte West’s shoes to get help? No disrespect to Delonte West or people in his position. But, what does it take to do the right thing? My whole life, I asked for help. People called me crazy.”Check out the full interview below:
A Frustrated LeBron James Curses at Teammates and Throws Basketball at Opposing Player in Latest Loss
The Los Angeles Lakers who were favored to win the NBA championship this season are failing miserably.
Despite LeBron Jameshaving a year that solidifies his legacy, the team is falling short and the frustration has reared its ugly head.
At Monday night’s Lakers game, which ended as a loss for the team, James became unhinged and was seen and heard shouting profanities at his teammates. During the second quarter as his teammates couldn’t grab a rebound and the whistle is blown against the Lakers, a foul is called. The future Hall of Famer screamed and cursed at his teammates for not getting a rebound. He bounces the basketball forcefully into the basketball court three times as the frustration in his face is evident.
In another outburst that drew complaints from people who viewed the game, “King James” seemingly does a very intimidating move towards a 20-year-old Toronto Raptors rookie. This took place in the third quarter of the 114-113 Toronto victory at The Lakers’ home court at the Crypto.com Arena.
As Toronto rookie Scottie Barnes is competing with James to grab a loose ball, Barnes falls to the floor as James loses the ball as he touched the basketball last before it goes out of bounds. James grabs the ball and throws it directly into the body of Barnes as he lies on the basketball court. When the ball goes out of bounds, James walks over to Barnes in an aggressive manner seemingly as if he was about to pounce on the rookie. The intimidation tactic looked like it worked as Barnes walked away from James to avoid confrontation.
This loss set the Lakers back to a record of 29-39 and places their playoff hopes in jeopardy once again.

30-Year-Old Homeless Man Arrested for Serial Shooting Attacks On Other Homeless in NYC and DC
On Tuesday, a 30-year-old homeless man was arrested in Washington DC in serial shooting attacks on fellow homeless people.
Gerald Brevard III was arrested early Tuesday after a multistate manhunt in connection with the targeted shooting attacks on five homeless people in New York City and DC, NBC New York reports. His arrest came after a violent nine-day spree of unprovoked attacks on homeless victims that left two men dead.
Police caught up to Brevard at a DC gas station. He was wearing the same clothes he had on when he allegedly shot two victims in Manhattan on Saturday.
Investigators say Brevard would scout the area before shooting his victims. Surveillance footage shows him walking around the block before pulling the trigger. Police found .22 caliber shell casings at all five crime scenes. One chilling video shows Brevard stalking one of his victims who was asleep before opening fire.

Brevard was charged with first-degree murder in the March 9 shooting and stabbing death of 54-year-old Morgan Holmes, NY Post reports. He was also charged with assault with the intent to kill and assault with a dangerous weapon—in connection with two earlier incidents.
Brevard is also a suspect in two additional attacks, but police haven’t found enough evidence to charge him, James Essig, the NYPD’s Chief of Detectives said.
A family member confirmed that Brevard is also currently homeless and has been intermittently staying at a great aunt’s house in Maryland.
“When he wanted to be off the street, he came, you know, to seek solace right here at my mom’s house … she would take him in every time,” cousin Dearell Brevard Sr. said. “He would come in and out, stay a couple of nights and continue to move on.”
The cousin noted how “shocked” the family is by the arrest. Brevard’s father, Gerald Brevard Jr., 54, revealed his son has always struggled with mental health issues.
“My son never had a violent bone in him as far as I know,” Brevard Jr. said. “He had mental problems … He wasn’t himself. He’s talking in the third person and stuff like that.”
Dr. LaTonia Collins Smith Named Harris-Stowe State University’s First Black Woman President
Harris-Stowe State University has made an historic choice for its 21st president. Dr. LaTonia Collins Smith was named the university’s first Black woman president in late February, Fox 2 News reported.
“Dr. Collins Smith exemplifies Harris-Stowe’s core values of personal growth, respect, innovation, diversity, and excellence. She has demonstrated her extraordinary ability to connect with all of our stakeholders and to catapult Harris-Stowe forward in these critical times,” Chair of the Board of Regents Michael McMillan said, according to the news outlet.
Harris-Stowe is a product of the 1954 merger of Harris Teachers College, which was established for white students, and Stowe Teachers College for future Black teachers of elementary schools in St. Louis. Following the legacy of Ruth Harris, the first African American woman president of Stowe Teachers College in 1940, Dr. Collins Smith assumed her official role on March 1.
Collins Smith’s career in higher education began at Harris-Stowe State University in 2010. A St. Louis native and a product of The Ville Neighborhood, she earned an educational doctorate in higher education leadership from Maryville University. Collins Smith attended Saint Louis University, where she earned a master of social work degree and a master of public health degree. She also studied social work and graduated from the University of Central Missouri.
Her appointment is a testament to the achievements that led her to this point. She has been recognized many times with leadership and service awards, including the Equal Education Opportunity Group Pioneer Award, the NAACP Ben Hooks Community Leader award, and the AKA Central Region’s Outstanding Educational Advancement Foundation Captain award, according to a university press release.
Steve Harvey Enters Kanye West-D.L. Hughley Fray With A Stern Warning For Ye
Family Feud host Steve Harveyhas entered the Kanye versus D. L. Hughley fracas. And Harvey has some sage advice for Ye if he wants to mix it up with his good friend, Hughley.
Ye issued a thinly veiled threat to Hughley after the comedian appeared on VLAD TV and spoke candidly about Ye’s harassing behavior toward his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, in a recent social media post.
While discussing the Ye/Hughley dilemma on his radio show, The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Harvey gave his opinion on what may happen if the two of them ever got together to “scrap.”
“Look, man, cmon dog. Pull up, man. It ain’t what you want. If y’all do get to scrappin’, all my cash on D.L. We from an ass-whoopin’ era. D.L. ain’t ya problem. Don’t go out there against that man’s family.”
Hughley remarked that Ye’s action against Kim Kardashian amounts to stalking. Ye caught wind of Hughley’s words and warned him that he “can afford to hurt” him.
According to XXL, in the since-deleted post, Ye says, “And DL Hughley is a pawn Yeah I know a king not supposed to address a pawn but I address everything and find addresses DL So don’t speak on me or my children I can afford to hurt u.”
In another deleted post, Ye continued his attack on the comedian by calling him a drug addict and posted a video clip of Hughley passing out on stage in 2020 due to coronavirus.
He then addressed Hughley, “God does not like you You have no favor Your family hates you I would hate to be related to somebody who used to be famous Now you just known as a broke pawn at least Oprah got billions ‘allegedly’ Come on leftist Y’all gotta do better than DL This Ye Bring the real smoke baby.”
In a third deleted post, he states he found out that Hughley lives in Calabasas, CA, and shared a photo of the area he lives in and exclaimed, “Wuuuuuut??? DL lives in Calabasas???????? Yoooooo God is good ”
But, as can be expected, Hughley hit back.
Hmmm! Ain’t it weird that #Kanye supposedly has all these goons who will kill for him, but not one of them will get his prescriptions filled? Here’s a thought while you’re on your way to kill me in Calabasas, how about somebody drop by CVS and pick up his Xanax! Lol #TeamDl
Update: White Man Who Fatally Shot Black Man During Camping Trip Will Not Be Charged
BLACK ENTERPRISE previously reported the mysterious killing of Jamaican-born Peter Spencer during a camping trip he went on with nine white men. Now, more details have been released. According to KDKA 2, no charges will be filed in his death.
On Dec. 11, 2021, Spencer went on a camping trip with his white co-worker and other friends in Rockland Township, Pennsylvania. In the early hours of the following day, his body was discovered on the front lawn of the cabin by responding Pennsylvania State Police.
His body was covered with nine bullet wounds, including six bullet wounds in his chest. The Pennsylvania State Police’s Heritage Affairs Section is involved in the case to investigate hate or bias.
Venango County District Attorney Shawn White argues that Spencer’s death was justified by self-defense under the Castle Doctrine, known as “stand your ground.” Police said they found multiple firearms, “ballistic evidence,” and controlled substances at the cabin, ABC News reported.
White presented reports Tuesday indicating THC and the hallucinogen psilocin were detected in Spencer’s system, which can cause panic attacks and psychosis. While under the influence, White said Spencer fired multiple rounds from an AK-47 he had brought with him, ordering other campers around. In response, his 25-year-old friend and co-worker shot him.
“There are nine shots fired beyond 24 inches of distance, or what we call long-distance shots,’ said independent forensic psychologist Dr. Cyril Wecht, according to a January 2022 report by the DailyMail.
“It’s like looking at someone who got hunted down, which is absolutely horrifying.”
He was not allowed to see the coroner’s report or inspect the body but studied pictures of Spencer’s wounds provided by the embalmer.
Despite the announcement, Spencer’s family, who believes that the slaying was racially-motivated, are not giving up on their beloved. Spencer is survived by his pregnant fiancée, Carmela King, who is expecting in June.
Tehilah Spencer, Peter’s brother, released a statement to KDKA-TV:
“What’s done in the Dark must come to Light, even though we are not pleased with the decision of the Venango County DA, it seems he left out key information, which we will address in due time.”
The family’s attorney issued this statement:
“While we disagree with the decision, we are not surprised by it,” Attorney Paul Jubas said in a statement on behalf of the grieving family. “This is the type of behavior we have seen from the PA State Police and Venango County District Attorney from the outset.
He continued, “…we ask everyone to please respect Peter’s family by giving them the space they deserve to continue the healing process during this incredibly difficult time.”
Next week, Jubas and the family will host a press conference alongside Dr. Wecht to address all aspects of the case and discuss their next steps.
Historically Black Beach in Annapolis to Become City Park
Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation (BOCF) and Chesapeake Conservancy celebrated the news that Elktonia Beach, the remaining parcel of the Black beaches once owned by the Carr family of Annapolis, will become a city park.
With this acquisition and its planned uses, everyone will be able to access Elktonia Beach’s natural resources and learn more about Black history on the Chesapeake.
Elktonia Beach, a 5-acre waterfront parcel on the Chesapeake Bay, is the last remnant of the original 180-acre property purchased by Fred Carr in 1902. Carr’s and Sparrows Beaches were privately-owned and operated by Fred Carr’s daughter, Elizabeth Carr Smith and Florence Carr Sparrows. The “Beaches” (1930s-1970s), as they were called, represented the heart of entertainment throughout the mid-Atlantic region and welcomed Blacks during a time of segregation.
The City of Annapolis, Blacks of the Chesapeake, Chesapeake Conservancy and the state of Maryland entered into an agreement with The Conservation Fund to acquire the property through a patchwork of funding including federal, state and city Program Open Space funds. On Mar. 10, 2022, with the support of U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, the FY 22 spending bill also included $2 million in congressionally directed spending to the City of Annapolis, Maryland, to support a state and local partnership effort to establish and develop a city park.
“This is a dream come true,” said BOCF Founder and President Vince Leggett.
“Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation has been working for 15 years to preserve the meaningful and unique aspects of Black history and culture on the Chesapeake Bay at the site of Elktonia Beach, the last remnant contiguous to Carr’s and Sparrows beaches. This parcel directly fronting the Bay is so much more than just a pin or dot on a map. It serves as a national case study for the preservation and conservation of African American sites.”
Leggett continued, “The perpetual preservation of Elktonia Beach as a city park will provide all residents and visitors to our capital city of Annapolis with direct access to the Chesapeake Bay. This property will serve as an authentic space to interpret and share the rich heritage of African Americans who sought recreation, leisure and entertainment in these safer places, away from segregation.”
“Chesapeake Conservancy is proud to partner with Blacks of the Chesapeake and The Conservation Fund to see this dream become a reality. This parcel of land is symbolic of a significant part of Black history in the United States, as well as an important part of the City of Annapolis’ history. We are so grateful to the many partners and elected officials who helped create what will one day be a city waterfront park open for everyone to enjoy the Chesapeake while honoring our history,” said Chesapeake Conservancy President and CEO Joel Dunn.
“This is a great day for everyone who has held a special place in their hearts for ‘The Beaches.’ Now this story can truly be told for generations to come.”
“We are grateful to Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, Maryland Secretary of Natural Resources Jeannie Haddaway-Riccio, Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin and the private landowner who chose conservation for the future of this property. Also, thank you to our partners Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation, The Conservation Fund and the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture, as well as other supporters of this effort, including Maryland State Senator Sarah Elfreth and Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman,” continued Dunn.
Fired Former Trump Administration Official Omarosa Ordered To Pay More Than $60K In Ethics Case
Federal Judge Richard Leon of the DC District Court ruled former Trump administration official Omarosa Manigault Newman must pay $61,585, ruling that she failed to comply with federal ethics requirements.
CNN reports the lawsuit was brought against Manigault Newman and former President Donald Trump by the Justice Department. The judge found Manigault Newman failed to file financial disclosures when she left her government job.
Manigault Newman served as the director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison in the White House. However, after less than a year in the position, President Trump fired her. According to multiple reports, administration attorneys reminded her several times that she did not file her financial disclosures after leaving the White House.
Manigault Newman claimed the White House had her last day wrong and held hostage boxes of her belongings and other items she had in her office. However, Leon found Manigault Newman liable for the maximum $50,000 civil penalty plus inflation.
“Manigault Newman willfully violated the [Ethics in Government Act],” Leon wrote in a 15-page opinion. The judge noted Manigault Newman was “well aware of her obligation” to make her final disclosures and had “received countless reminders.”
“This conduct establishes a willful violation,” the judge added.
Leon also determined that Manigault Newman, one of the most notable figures in the Trump administration and a former contestant on Trump’s show, The Apprentice, has ample funds to pay the fine considering she made more than $100,000 during her time in the White House and is a partial beneficiary of a million-dollar trust.
Since leaving the administration, Manigault Newman has constantly attacked the former president, calling him racist and publishing a book, Unhinged, about her time in the administration.
After the ruling, Omarosa attacked Trump again on Twitter.
The question remains… are there two systems of justice in this country.
One that allows those who violate the Hatch Act and Emoluments Clause a slap on wrist and the other that orders an unprecedented fine (highest in history) for an alleged unintentional failing to file a form? https://t.co/OgvB1Nwfxn

Fans Demand Zeus Network Cancel ‘Joseline’s Cabaret’ After She Admits to Assaulting Cast
Reports of Joseline Hernandez‘s mistreatment of the “Joseline’s Cabaret” cast has fans demanding the Zeus Network cancel the show.
The behind-the-scenes drama came to a head Wednesday when a season 3 cast member accused Joseline and her husband, Ballistic Beats, of physically assaulting her during the reunion show taping. In a video captured by The Shade Room, Amber is seen lying in a hospital bed recalling her version of what happened.
“Yes I’m in the hospital because Joseline kicked me and Ballistic attacked me,” Amber said while on Instagram Live.
“I only came to the hospital because my ribs are very bruised because Joseline had some big a** boots on and she kicked me,” Amber continued.
While panning the camera down to show her bruised torso, the Chicago native said she has to make sure her ribs arent “broken or bruised.” She also accused Joseline’s husband of ripping out her “real hair” after snatching her wig.
“We gon handle this in court. It’s all good,” Amber concluded.
In a separate video, Amber became emotional while speaking out against Ballistic for allegedly assaulting her after she tried to defend herself from Joseline’s physical attacks. “You a whole man and you gon put your hands on me,” Amber said through tears.
While Amber’s claims could’ve just been accusations, Joseline seemingly confirmed the account through a series of tweets she sent out.
i mortal kombat one hoe
Pimped slapped another 1
Pushed one into last nights episode
Kiked down a few on the ground. I slapped fire out of everyone on that stage. Me n my crew. Wait for it #joselinescabaretlasvegas
In another tweet, Joseline claimed Amber can’t take legal action “when you sign up for a reality show.”
After seeing Joseline’s unbothered response to Amber’s injuries, many bashed the reality star saying she needs to get her show canceled.
“You’re going to jail,” one user wrote.
“Joseline bullying them girls just like her pimp did her; this explains it all . She needs help,” added someone else.
“They gone sue tf outta you,” another wrote.
“Iont care how much clout you think you have as a celebrity.. she playing a very dangerous game,” another user wrote.
Bringing their criticism to Zeus, many called out the network saying it’s time to pull the plug on Joseline’s failed attempt at a show around female empowerment.
“This might be the last season,” one person wrote.
“It’s time that she get cancelled for good,” added someone else.
This isn’t the first time Joseline has been called out for her mistreatment toward the cast on her show. Over the course of the show’s three seasons, Joseline has trended on social media for harsh pep talks and physical threats against the girls.
