Kanye West Admits Loving Hitler, Nazis; Receives Major Backlash—Twitter Account Suspended

Kanye West Admits Loving Hitler, Nazis; Receives Major Backlash—Twitter Account Suspended

Ye keeps adding more fuel to the fire every chance he gets.

Rapper Kanye West went off the rails yesterday, openly admitting that he loves Adolf Hitler and the Nazis during an interview with right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Infowars. Twitter sounded off against the rapper’s comments.

According to Billboard, West continuously praised Hitler during the interview, insisting that he was a fan of the Nazi leader.

“Every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler. How about that one?” he told Jones, who then told Ye that he has a “bit of a Hitler fetish going on.”

“It’s not a fetish. I just like information,” West replied.

“I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis,” West said later in the interview, reiterating that it’s “time to promote love” by ultimately declaring, “I do love Hitler. I do love the Zionists.”

Twitter users took to their accounts to express their concerns towards the rapper’s conflicting interview.

Following the interview, the Twitter account for the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee reportedly deleted a tweet posted in October that said “Kanye. Elon. Trump.”

The Independent reported Twitter owner and tech-billionaire Elon Musk confirmed the suspension of Ye’s account after the rapper shared an image of a swastika inside the Star of David.

British broadcaster Piers Morgan tweeted this morning about a recent conversation over text he had with West.

As previously reported in BLACK ENTERPRISE, West once wanted to name an album after Hitler, and several inside sources revealed that the rapper had a long-standing fascination with the late Nazi leader.

A business executive who worked for West, told CNN in October, that “the artist created a hostile work environment, in part through his ‘obsession’ with Hitler.”

“He would praise Hitler by saying how incredible it was that he was able to accumulate so much power and would talk about all the great things he and the Nazi Party achieved for the German people,” the individual added.

Entrepreneurs Collaborate To Build a Black Wall Street In Baltimore

Entrepreneurs Collaborate To Build a Black Wall Street In Baltimore

Black entrepreneurs have collaborated to create a community they refer to as “The Black Wall Street of Baltimore” on 25th Street in North Baltimore, Maryland, according to WMAR2 News

The founder of the non-profit Notre Maison Connects, Jacqueline Cummings, owns several buildings along the street that she and other business owners began calling “The Black Wall Street.” Cummings said she wants to invite more Black-owned businesses in the community to join them.

“These are a lot of young entrepreneurs and this is the whisper, this is the Black Wall Street, well now let’s not whisper it, let’s shout it, let’s talk about it, let’s invite more businesses in,” said Cummings.

Cummings said that she and the other business owners on 25th Street want to recreate a place similar to the Black Wall Street originated in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The street boasts several Black-owned businesses including a clothing store called Waaah attached to a barbershop, a library, a hair salon, a soul food joint called Taste This, a unisex clothing brand store and a restaurant.

“Do you want to learn about hair? We’re gonna send you to Blush to talk to Ashley. We have Taste This, we have Terra Café. You want to learn how to make your shirts and how to produce your brand? We send you to talk to Mike at Skrued,” she said.

Waaah owner Deandre Williams compared 25th Street to Rodeo Drive.

“I just like the Mecca, it’s like Baltimore Rodeo Drive honestly. Me being right here in the center of attention where all of my peers are, all the Baltimore brands, it’s just like together we are better,” Williams said.

Cummings added that she works to uplift young people at Notre Maison Connects to teach them about unity and entrepreneurship.

“We work with 18 to 21-year-olds so we teach them about entrepreneurship, we teach them about unity, we teach them about supporting each other, and we talk. We have the business owners come in and talk to our young people. We’re not gonna push you down and pull you down, we’re gonna lift you up.”

AK Prosthetics Founder Adero Knott Nets Grant To Develop Bicycle Adapter for Amputees

Adero Knott, who identifies as a congenital below-elbow amputee, has joined forces with venture capitalist Arlan Hamilton to develop a bike adapter for amputees.

Medium reports the professional relationship between Knott and Hamilton began last January when Knott tagged Hamilton in an Instagram post with the headline “Black Disabled Woman Develops App that Makes Customized Prosthetics Covid-Proof for Amputees.”

“While conducting market research and surveys for my app idea, I decided to put myself out there and made a post on Instagram,” Knott told Medium.

“Shortly after, Arlan DM’ed saying she wanted to meet me, and the rest was history.”

Since that initial conversation, Hamilton, who also runs the nonprofit Project Cover, has funded Knott’s AK Prosthetics and has been a mentor to Knott, telling Medium she was drawn in by Knott’s passion, talent, and vision.

“She always seems to be in forward motion. She has a mission and will not stop until her arrow hits the target,” Hamilton said.

https://twitter.com/ArlanWasHere/status/1597608776143540225

Knott has spent nearly a decade making prosthetic limbs accessible and inclusive for underrepresented communities. Project Cover has awarded Knott the first BIPOC Developers Grant to help her develop a bike adaptor for amputee riders.

Knott became interested in prosthetics when she worked in China between 2013 and 2015. Her weight fluctuated during her time in the country and, as a result, her prosthetic arm didn’t fit. When she returned to the U.S. for a new arm, it took months for her physician to send the prescription to the prosthetic’s office, who then sent a claim to her insurance company.

The experience showed Knott how inefficient and expensive the prosthetics industry is, which motivated her to change it. Costs for prosthetic limbs start in the low thousands and custom prosthetics, which most amputees need in order to feel comfortable, can easily cost $100,000 or more.

Knott launched AK Prosthetics in 2016 after winning a pitch competition led by rapper Lupe Fiasco and Silicon Valley executive Di-Ann Eisnor. While working a full-time job, she spent the next four years developing the AK Prosthetics app for amputees to order and receive custom prosthetics at affordable prices.

Once a Single Mom Herself, Houston Realtor Launches Initiative to Help Single Moms Tuck their Kids into New Beds this Holiday Season

Houston Realtor Noel Collier, Founder & CEO of Noel Collier Group Powered by Keller Williams Professionals, is launching a personal initiative to give kids of Houston Area single moms brand new beds this holiday season!

The Houston native and accomplished realtor was once a single mom herself and is now planning to purchase and donate beds for children of all ages as a way to give back to single and young mothers.

Collier knows the challenges of being a single mother and has overcome a great deal to get to where she is today.  She became a single mom at age 17, worked two jobs to afford formula, diapers, and the baby basics, and still managed to graduate in the top 10 percent of her class at Hempstead High School. She enrolled at Texas Southern University and had to work a different job nearly every semester in order to manage both her class schedule and the care of her little one.

“I had to be resourceful, and I had to hustle,” said Collier.  “I had no choice. It was just me and my baby.  The only furniture we had was a TV and an air mattress and it was pretty much that way all through college.  That’s why this initiative is so important to me.  Every child should have a good night’s sleep and a bed of their own, but it is an expense that is simply out of reach for a lot of single moms.”

The advocacy group Children at Risk estimates some 300,000 children are sleeping on the floor every night in the Greater Houston Area. Collier is working to reduce that number one bed at a time.  She plans to start providing children’s beds for single moms in December at her own expense, just in time for Christmas, and is anticipating giving at least one bed to a single mom or young mother every month in 2023.

Collier’s new initiative is open to any Houston Area single mom in need!  To nominate a single mom who needs a bed for their child, send an email with their story and contact information to Noel Collier at admin@sellwithnoel.com

Now a wife and mother of three beautiful children, Collier is a top performing Houston realtor and a 2022 Houston Business Journal “40 Under 40” Honoree.  She left an accomplished executive career in software sales to pursue her passion for real estate and founded her own boutique real estate agency, the Noel Collier Group Powered by Keller Williams Professionals, in 2019.

Collier’s small boutique agency, one of just five percent of Black-owned realtors in the U.S., has generated more than $50 million in sales in the Houston area in three short years. In addition to her new beds for single mom’s initiative, the Texas Southern University grad also volunteers her time with TSU mentoring business students, hosts free community seminars to help people navigate the complicated waters of buying and selling a home, and sponsors nonprofit organizations that contribute to the betterment of youth, the community and society.

Marvel Fans Demand a Disney+ Series From Ryan Coogler Starring Bashenga, the First Black Panther

Marvel fans want a series starring Bashenga, the first Black Panther, and they want Ryan Coogler to make it happen.

A talented Black artist named Shaun Harrison illustrated stunning mockups of Bashenga and took to Twitter to push the narrative of Bashenga and he posted pieces of art that he created as concepts exploring the idea.

(Concept by Shaun Harrison/Twitter)

According to FandomWireBlack Panther teased the narrative of Shaman Bashenga becoming the first Black Panther. However, none of the Marvel movies dive too deep into the history of Wakanda and King Bashenga.

The outlet stated that Bashenga united all the tribes of Wakanda that were once divided.

The warrior had a vision of the goddess Bast and was summoned to the Vabranium-rich soil that produced a powerful herb that he was constructed to consume by the goddess. Partaking of the herb made him superhuman, and the King of Wakanda became the first Black Panther.

After, descendants of the Golden tribe had taken on the Black Panther mantle.

(Concept by Shaun Harrison/Twitter)

Harrison followed up with an additional post hinting at characters who would fit as members of the five prevalent tribes back in Bashenga’s times, handing the lead role to British actor John Boyega and adding the character of Phastos to the plot.

Additionally, the artist provided a list of musical contributions that would appeal to the narrative.

Fans reacted to the Bashenga concept.

New Marvel Disney+ series concept of ‘Bashenga: The First Black Panther’ by @Shaun_Harrison ! Ryan Coogler make this!” Heroic Hollywood tweeted with photos of Harrison’s concept.

“This looks awesome,” one user replied, while another wrote, “WE NEEED THISSSS i want to see baast!”

When one user questioned the purpose of the concept another explained, “It’s been two movies and a bit movies, we know absolutely nothing about Wakanda’s history. A big rock fell a long time ago and now they’re the richest and by far the most advanced country on the planet, with no explanation. Zero world building.”

Marvel Studios and Disney have been tagged a lot demanding the concept to be brought to the big screen following the premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Will Smith Gets Support From His Family at ‘Emancipation’ Premiere

Will Smith walked his first red carpet after slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards.

All eyes were on Smith as he arrived for the Los Angeles premiere of his latest film, Emancipation, at Regency Village Theatre Wednesday with his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and their three children, ET reported.

Smith looked dapper in a maroon three-piece suit while Jada stunned in her white ballgown embellished with jewels that covered her torso from the neck down.

The Smith kids were there to support their parents on their first red carpet since attending the Oscars. Jaden and Willow Smith, and Smith’s eldest son, Trey, with his first wife, Sheree Zampino, posed for photos alongside their parents.

Tiffany Haddish and Judge Greg Mathis and his family also decked the red carpet.

Actress Lela Rochon stepped out to support her husband, Antoine Fuqua, who directed the historical action film.

The red carpet appearance came days after Smith appeared on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and addressed the “horrific” Oscars slap attack.

“That was a horrific night, as you can imagine. You know, there’s many nuances and complexities to it. But at the end of the day, I just—I lost it, you know?” Will explained.

“And I guess what I would say, you just never know what somebody’s going through, you know? In the audience right now, you are sitting next to strangers, and somebody’s mother died last week. Somebody’s child is sick. Somebody just lost their job. Somebody just found out their spouse cheated.”

“It’s like–there’s all these things, and they’re strangers, and you just don’t know what is going on with people. And I was going through something that night. Not that that justifies my behavior at all,” he added.

Smith walked away with his first Oscar that night after winning Best Actor for his role in King Richard just minutes after slapping Rock. He also walked away with a lesson.

“You are asking, what did I learn, and it is that we just got to be nice to each other, man,” Smith shared.

“I guess the thing that was most painful for me is, I took my hard and made it hard for other people. I understood the idea…they say hurt people hurt people.”

The Men In Black star explained the emotions he had “bubbled up” that led to the shocking moment.

“It was a lot of things. It was the little boy that watched his father beat up his mother,” Smith explained. “All of that just bubbled up in that moment. I just—that is not who I want to be.”

Rock has lightly addressed the attack during his standup sets in recent months but has yet to speak on the traumatic experience in an interview.

University Of Minnesota Exhibits Largest Collection Of Black Photography

University Of Minnesota Exhibits Largest Collection Of Black Photography

The University of Minnesota is currently exhibiting the largest collection of Black photography ever displayed with a compilation of more than 200 photographs, according to KARE11 News. “A Picture Gallery of the Soul” is on currently on display in the Katherine E. Nash Gallery at the university’s College of Liberal Arts in Minneapolis.

The exhibit consists of three centuries of American Black photography from more than 100 artists between the 19th century and the 21st century. Images from the George Floyd protests and the first Black lawyers in St. Paul are included in the exhibition. According to the co-curator of the exhibition, Dr. Herman Milligan, “A Picture Gallery of the Soul” was named after a Frederick Douglass quote.

“Frederick Douglass wrote four essays on photography and… in one of those essays, he’s referencing that human beings – if you look at them in terms of a repository of knowledge – you can look at their soul as a picture gallery.”

Milligan added that it was critical for the collection to include known photographers such as Gordon Parks and Kwame Braithwaite, as well as up-and-coming photographers in order to document the current Black experience in America.

“I think it was critical that you do have photographers represented who are part of the here and now and help tell the story of the 360 degrees of the Black American experience from the point of view of a Black American photographer,” he said.

The Katherine E. Nash Gallery shared a post on Instagram announcing the exhibition with a self-portrait of Brathwaite. “We are pleased to present the upcoming exhibition, A Picture Gallery of the Soul, featuring over 100 Black American artists whose practice incorporates the photographic medium.”

The collection is also accompanied by a jazz soundtrack created by Milligan, who began curating photographs for the exhibition with Howard Oransky in 2016. Oransky and Milligan’s collection is also available on Amazon and in bookstores.

The exhibit opened in September and will be on display until Dec. 10.
